I don't know if this qualifies as an older sportbike, but I'll post this anyway. Just picked up a 2006 BMW K1200S this week. At just under 22,000 miles she's in great condition and was babied by her previous owner.

2001 was same as 2000. 6th gen started with 2002. You could have bought a Ventura bike rack or sport rack and saddle bags and a Motofizz seat bag like I did and traveled all over, like I've done on mine.

I just got this long term project back on the front burner. Purchased it in plastic totes completely stripped down to a bare frame a few years ago.

It’s been sitting in a buddy’s garage with his good intentions paving a long road. I got it back a few days ago and spent a day figuring out where everything went and got it to start. Still needs a few things but it’s pretty complete and has a nice retro vibe to it.

Now I don’t know what I want to do with it!

I'm currently setting mine up with Wolfman Rocky Mtn panniers utilizing Hepco Becker racks. Will post pics when it all comes together

Where are you, I'm near New Baltimore

You know what they say about the yellow VFR's.

I prefer soft luggage that I can take off easily... and used among my other bikes.
Usually a single Ventura luggage bag on the passenger seat is enough to carry everything I need,
but for longer trips, I add the panniers.. really hate to lose the capability to ride between car mirrors.

How are 6th gen bikes for two up touring? Avg H x W for pillion. There is a really good deal , I think, on a bike near me and wondering what yawls thoughts are.

Underseat exhaust on 6th gen heats up & limit the options for side luggage.

With most any bike with under tail exhaust expect complaints from the pillion of hair and clothing smelling like exhaust. YMMV

Not overly fond of the look of that seat, but boy did we like that bike when it came out in 89! That snorkel set up was pretty cool. A real stand out.

    Buncha bananas! :lol3

I do like yellow too though. Where's the yellow VTR1000?
