Smoke Hole Rd. is where sport riders go when they die...if they've been good.

I bought this '91 F2 (replete with 90s Mattel Barbie/My Little Pony colors) apart in several boxes and lovingly cleaned, rebuilt and reassembled it, surprised that there wasn't a single crack or missing tab in the tupperware. Had it back together all of 2 weeks and hit a damn deer.

Picked up this unicorn--'99 Cyclone M2--a while ago and having fun hooning the back roads. A great fun ride!

Me too. Bought my first several years ago from a gentleman 2 years younger than me. It was in Spokane, WA. Had to ride it 3000 miles home to Dallas, TX. It was going to be a fly and ride home and then I was going to sell it. Left Dallas at 80* and arrived Spokane at 60*. The next day it was 22* and me with no cold weather gear. The PO was nice enough to take me to Walmart to get some gear and some hunter hot packs for my gloves. Those packs are good for 8 hours and work almost as good as heated gloves. Some where on the ride I decided I liked the bike so stopped in CA and spent $3000 on suspension upgrades and a lot other stuff. More than twice what I paid for the bike. I then bought another 84. Then a 91. Then a 93. I have a FJ addiction. Every time I tell myself I am not going to buy any more another low mileage pristine one pops up.

I saw a late 80's FZ700 in really good shape for sale at a local stealership a few days ago.... from the ad and the bike looks every bit as nice in person.

Aftermath of my beautiful 93 CBR1000F after trying to keep up with much newer bikes and much faster riders one too many times. I’m lucky to be alive

So of course I went out and bought even faster bikes cuz why not?? 98 Superhawk and 06 Kawasaki ZX-14.. They both have Delkevic exhausts.. The Kawi has been great but the Honda has given me nothing but issues... I wish I would’ve gotten a Ducati 916 at least I could’ve understood having issues

About 10 years ago, I used to do all my traveling on my ‘99 750 Monster. It was such a fun bike… handled really well and just enough power to be interesting, but not enough to get me in too much trouble.

I bought it as a non-running basketcase in 2010 and spent a few months fixing up. I put about 30,000 miles on it over the next 4 years. The pic below was from the very last trip I ever took on it in July ‘14. I took the pic while waiting on roadside assistance at a rest area after I ran out of gas. :rofl

I should have taken that as an omen. The voltage regulator died on the way back home from this trip, and took out every bit of electrics on the bike. The clutch was also on its way out at that time, so I put it in storage and she’s never run since.

    Looks mint!

Bet it feels good to have one now? I scored a similar vintage VFR a few years ago; same story, always wanted one back then.

Dunno if it qualifies as a sportbike, definitely a road warrior. 1980 GS1000S (yes really) with an 83 1100 motor and wheels, 81 tank, some unidentified 4-1, and an OEM 1000S fairing. Saved and restored by my friend Mel who's buddy crashed it and ruined the beautiful robin's egg blue and white factory paint colors. The original engine still prowls the streets in a GS750, or at least it did in 2002 when I left Edmonton. Sadly, it was mine for less than a year when financial realities forced a reluctant sale. I went to Calgary to buy it back the following summer, but, it was long gone of course. Got $1500 for it when I sold it. It was a shitty year.
