Thank you. I appreciate that. I will not derail this thread with my drivel. Haha. We rode a lot when we were younger. Marriage, house, kids, etc got in the way of my riding for 10 years. It was a little longer for my brother. He always wanted to get a motorcycle again, but never pulled the trigger. I guess I pulled it for him.

Now there will be a bigger version of his old ZX-6, the ZX-11, in the same place as the Valkyrie, 3 years prior. It's going to be a great Christmas.
Now for your regularly scheduled programming

Low bars. High rear sets. Bare bike. Old fart folding up to fit . Perfect!! 9A989EE8-6B08-40BD-B905-B6D01F77E227.jpeg 58B10AEE-C150-4315-9C5D-64B937218098.jpeg

I think you attached the wrong picture?

Kidding! I mean this with no disrespect but I had to chuckle when I saw the pictures. As someone who rode, er, ok, owned a 996 for 17 years (and still has an 851) that bike looks downright relaxed. It's all relative I guess. :beer

I told you, I'd keep you posted.:-) One running, now on to the next. Originally, I wanted to get the burgundy ZX running before the black one because that one is for my brother and it is more important that runs first. Well, the black one had ideas of it's own.

Once the burgundy one starts and runs, I'll post up again. Thanks for going on this Older Sportbike journey with me and I look forward to seeing more of other people's motorcycles as well. Have fun.

All hail the mighty ZX11! T'was a fun bike that was ferociously fast and handled really well.

I had the GPZ1100, which was also a great bike. They would run with pretty much anything you could buy right now.

They liked to eat second gear and spin the #3 con-rod. Otherwise, some of the best bikes ever.

There’s a variety of choices in sports bikes. I’ve never seen a reason to ride a torture rack. So, I choose what suits me..
I try them on every year at Ducati island at Laguna Seca. But my life I’ve been a Monster and a Multistrada

Always admired those MZs but, at least up here in N. England, I don't believe I've ever seen one in the wild. The motor was a Yamaha 660 single as I recall. Loved the looks, loved the weight, but they seemed to come & go without leaving a ripple.

No but I worked at a dealer during their short life. Great chassis. An under rated bike with some QC issues in my experience. We only sold 4 or 5 of them. Considered buying one but ended up with an '04 Tuono.

Nope a 1 liter parallel twin in that one.

OOps! Senior moment...I think their first bikes, mid weights, were the Yammie singles & then came the 1 liter twins... from Rotax, No?
