Yea,,, Those were important back then, and I even probably wore a larger helmet since back then I had hair under that helmet......LOL

If you did it was a damn smart move IMO.
With the hair that used to be, a helmet probably wouldn't be needed.

Only 8 years ago but before the 82 Sportster XLS was my first bike, it was the first one I ever rode on sitting on the tank in front of my uncle in 1990ish

He is in the Guinness book of world records as the first trapper in Canada to use an airplane on his trap-line.
The airplane was a D60 moth it had 60 horse power.
