Domest, I think your pics capture the intent of this thread very well. Glad you decided to join our ranks. I have no pics of myself on my ol' 66 CL-160,,, purchased fall, 67.
Almost a motorcycle. 1976ish... I'm the little one, that's my brothers "bike". My dad made it out of an old bicycle and a 3hp go cart engine. He had a custom sprocket made for the rear. I never counted but a guess would be something like 80teeth. It was almost as big as the rim. We had it up to about 15 years ago. Have no idea why we got rid of it.
My 1975 CB750 in 1976. The previous owner was kind enought to send this over. Picture taken in colorado with his son on the back of the bike:
I know it seems that way, but those of you guys that were introduced to riding by your dad, brothers, uncles, or someone when you were very young should take a minute to thank those guys if they are still alive. I didn't get that, so didn't really start riding until I was out of college if you don't count this kind of thing. My dad recently sent me this picture of what he says is likely my first motorcycle ride. Ohio State Fair, August 1970. That's me on the left in the red stripe shirt, and my brother Tom with me. Notice our matching footwear!
Draley in 1973. Creek riding is soooo much fun. My trusty and always reliable 1975 DT400 with huge plastic gas tank. I bought this bike for $300 and punished it for over 10 years. I loved this bike and the mountains of Western Maryland. These photos are from around 1982 when I lived in LaVale, MD. (near Cumberland, MD). Oh, I grew all my hair out. I'm bald now, dangit!
I'm just starting to read through this thread but I got to say that face is the dictionary definition of HAPPY
Find a photo of a finisher of a really tough endoro six day or killer compitetion, and if you look closely, behind the blood and grime, you will see that same smile!
