You should have called in on your way past...so I could point and laugh...
You live in Dannevegas & ride a DR650, so I'm prepared to cut you some slack when you say hurtful things...I know it's just the jealousy coming out.
It was pissing down. I did think about calling, but didn't...I was fairly focussed on getting home.
I need to get the set up right before I do anything too stupid...okay MORE stupid on it.
Just in case you wondered what else uses 16" tyres in skinny profiles - GN125. Quality...
Nice work Steve, you do spin a good yarn. Least with all the hassle it gave you getting it home you know its an authentic BMW and not some cheap Asian knock-off with a beamer badge .
Geez I bet ya the 1st owner thrashed the ring out of it.
glad you got home ok
Sounds like a great adventure, a few things to sort out but it looks like it'll be a fun adventure rig.
runs out of gas just getting it home. twice good read
BTW, why do they still talk in feet? We’ve been metric for several generations now?
because the yanks invented aviation (they think) and wrote many of the rules we use nowadays
Sounds like a totally senseless, indulgent, time consuming, potentially dangerous project.
I like it.
Took the girls out for a spin in the sidecar. My daughter to the indoor riding school in Ohariu Valley (quite a tight rural road), Mandy to get some groceries, & then a spin round the burbs, with a promise of more tomorrow. Both loved the experience. Think we have a winner...
Sounds like a green light for some serious farkling
Nice RR too
Apparently I have to get a haircut & a real job before doing that...As if...
I must be warped but I always fancied Mildred
Was it the handbag or the earings that caught your eye?
When do you think you'll have Mildred ready to tackle the Mackley again?
Again? I thought we'd build towards that.
The sidecar forks are out, & then there are a heap of other things to deal to including an engine & final drive swap.
We need to introduce gravel roads. Maybe Takapari Rd once she gets settled.
I am, however, ready (with Gus) to go anytime...
It'd be quite good if Mark would hurry up & finish his perpetual / stalled build...I wonder when the build thread (must be getting pretty big by now) is due for publication...
You may have just stumbled on the new name for Steves combo. Mildred? or George and Mildred?
cracked it for ya...... Georgedred
