And a single leader, so the brakes are up to the extra weight.
A bit more for A2 and his Bim.
New braided brake hoses on the Tiger today. No brakes yet.
I remember my rear brake overheating on that track. Steeper than it looks in places.
That'd be because your foot was on the lever.
Yeah, steep in spots. Nothing serious though. I suspect you'd have been much happier with a bit less mass, which wasn't the point of the exercise.
Li'l Barry, ain't happy.
It all turns out well in the end
Gets an engine transplant? RG500?
Greetings sidecarists. I’m chasing a bit of info (okay, I need help).
I bought a GSX1400 with sidecar attached a couple of months back. It is fitted with Unit Forks leading links. I’m going to get it registered soon and will need to get engineering approval to do so. As I’m in NSW and the regulations are as tight as a fishes bum, I need to get engineering drawings for the leading links. As far as I can figure out, Hedingham Sidecars were the suppliers of Unit Forks.
So my question is, would anyone know how, or if, I could contact them? I suspect they may have gone belly up.
And yes, I have asked this over on the Hacks thread.
Pic because we all like pics.
I will swap you a set of standard forks
Unit/ hedingham have gone belly up.
There was a bloke in the UK that was going to resurrect hedingham. You might be able to find him on FB . The last I heard he was busy making morgue racks and the sidecar stuff hasn't happened .
Hello Gentlemen of the Third Wheel,
I am about to connect a Velorex 652 to a 1981 R80G/S and am in need of a decent kit to make it happen. Can anyone recommend a kit or someone who has the skills to make such a thing. Thank you in advance for your words of wisdom.
Oh bugger, that’s going to make finding the engineering diagrams difficult.
Try sending a msg to this fella
Not to wreck the end of the story but he is replaced with an Ariel square 4?
It and the original book “Barry the bike” are great positive role models for potential mcycle riders. Including my granddaughters (3) who’s mothers have never been on a bike in their lives. Which is sad. Anyway moving on.
Thanks Will. I’ll give that a try.
Edit: sent him a message, just hope he sees it soon. Doesn’t look like he’s very active on Faceplant.
Returning to this - popped into Ural Australia the other Saturday. The guy I was talking to said (the distributor) has imported/sold 60 Urals in 2021 so far. And if you order one today you will see it late in the year. For all the riding I do, I don’t see bugger all Urals. I guess their out there just on different roads.
If you were to visit the Sydney distributor, you would have to assume they are all parked in front of boutique breweries, cafes or beard emporiums.
I was genuinely interested in a new Ural, but after the service (rather the lack of service) my enthusiasm waned rather quickly.
I had one for a magazine test a couple of years ago. A day later it was collected on a trailer by the local dealer with some ringing noises inside the engine - I forget what it was now. To be fair it was fixed quickly.
