Yeah agree, off piste is good, but there times when you can’t avoid bitumen.
The two posts above yours are incredible figures, Rockman says he’s never had worse than 14.9 kms per litre !

That is a stunning result, I just don’t know any outfit owner personally that has achieved those figures, if I had got results that good, at highway speeds, I reckon I’d (maybe) have kept my outfit.

And yes, TenereMark, the ability to cruise at the speed limit and pass semis safely was why I used a GSX1400 and not a Ural.
Also, none of my regular riding mates had chairs, if I wanted to take the outfit and ride places with them, I needed to be able to sit on 110, at a minimum.

My fuel usage went down when I changed the tub from this

Prior to the swap even carrying fuel brought some ass puckering out west . Thank god for a tail wind :lol3

It's getting harder to find un-sealed roads every year.

Thirst must be infectious, most outfit riders I've met have had quite a thirst...

Think that's about the same fuel consumption as a Ural

Speed a fair bit higher though

Lightweight sidecar on the KLR works perfect for me. Done several outback IMG_3586.jpg trips now and had no trouble with sandy roads, just plough straight through without a problem. Not deep deep sand mind you but bad enough to cause two wheelers problems. Cruise all day with current gearing at 100kmph and if needed 105kmph. What is the rush, its a sidecar? Getting 14-15km per lt at highway speeds and around 16-17 at dirt speeds.

I like the TIE Fighter decals on the sidecar.

Don't see many CBRs with a chair. There is plenty of discussion about the company.

Going well thanks mate and I hope you're keeping well yourself. :-)

I had a quick look at that Thread this morning and was really surprised to see someone had already replied using my username. :eek7

Not sure how that happened to be honest - very strange.

But, I'll read the rest this afternoon - for the very first time - again. :shog

Found this photo the other night, 1982 last event of the year, an enduro. Lots of fun in those days TT500 Yamaha with my first lightweight sidecar and great passenger Craig Saegy, always where he needed to be on the sidecar. Brings back great memories 20210817_073711.jpg
