Rolling down the hill towards the bar ten I noticed the drastic difference in the level of "maintenance" NPS had executed. No stone left unturned!!! OOOUUCCHHHHH The entire road from the air strip on has had its classification upgraded at least two levels. The ability for any vehicle to travel three times faster than before will have its consequences this summer. After being passed by three large groups of these I had had enough. I stopped at this spot because I knew I had a before shot. Before. After.
A couple miles back is what I really came to see, at a hundred and two miles of dirt on the clock to get here I turned off on to the frog springs road. The road is at the Supai level. So good I can not put words to it. Supai slab.
Really good right out of the gate. Took the high road back. Another good one. I know as I scratch the surface of this vast area there is the remainder of my life to get to know it.
I would not go down in the crack at 'otherworldly camp site'. Never can tell what/who you'd meet - here kitty, kitty.
I hit a weather window to see what I missed in the Spring. Pat was along for the journey. The same approch was used so the pics start where the fun begins on the second day. I have anticipated this route.down into the canyon for many years. [/url That was really good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pat blasted off towards the copper mine. The mine site could be seen from the camp I had in the previous rr for this area, the camp and Supai formations are across prashant canyon in the shot. This site has an enormous amount of modern artifacts. Bangged our way out to a beautiful camp.
This day was very good. Mollies nipple, a future destination. Finishing the climb up trail canyon was very satisfying...........
Getting that work done was just part of finishing this day. I wanted to spend the afternoon and evening looking over the terrain that we just rode over the last day and a half. Right to left, the namesake for the area is huge. So parashant overlook fit the bill. A fine happy hour it was!
