a little rain.
Packed up this morning and headed out. It was slab time. 40 to 26 to 81 to Roanoke for the night. Going to keep an eye on the weather before desiding which way to go to Butler, Pa.

Have a good night
DEparture approaches. I remembered yesterday that I have a trashbag rain jacket so I am donning that today as it is drizzling out now. And thanks to Jim I have boot covers as well. They worked great the last time I used them and don,t expect to have a problem today.
Great trip. I just recently retired as well!
Btw - That location on the BRP is the highest spot on the Parkway. The highest spot on the east coast is Mt Mitchell in NC at about 500 feet higher elevation than the location on the BRP.
Thanks for the correction @Augie
I took rte 11 north and got 2 blocks when I saw this
As I was heading north I kept looking over at the BRP wanting to get on it and have some fun. But alas, the cloud ceiling was below the peaks and having been on the parkway in the past when it was foggy I took a pass.
This area must have been a dinasaur haven.
Who knew Sam Houstan was born in Va?
Patsy Cline is from Va as well. Rte 11 (or it could have been 340), or at least part of it, is the Patsy Cline Highway.
I didn't find a statue of her or anything else.
From 11 I took 340 to 522 and took a nice ride around Winchest trying to get back on 522 because I missed a turn.
Berkley Springs seems nice and deserves more time than just a ride through gave it. It is the first spa in the US.
From there I hit Breezewood and over to Bedford for the night.
When I left this morning there was light rain that stopped immediately after departure. All day long it looked like rain but I enjoyed riding in the sucker hole. In Berkley Springs I thought the hole was closing up on me but there were only a few sprinkles. About 5 miles away from Bedford my luck ran out and it started to rain but not too bad.
I left Bedford and spotted this place.
The https://stoogeum.com/ is in eastern Pa. I wonder if there is a brother bar there. Maybe there are 6 in Pa. One for each Stooge.
I am at the 4 Winds rally site but the phone signal is pretty low. I will have to head to the big city to get signal to upload pics.
North of Johnstown
I wouldn't want to tumble down that hill.
The deepest gap east of the Mississippi.
I almost passed this spot up.
As you can see I still need to work on securing my camping gear to the bike.
