I get away with just changing damping settings front and rear, but I'm not track riding. Trails and dirt with the 21/18 and street and twisties with the 17's. I use the stock settings for the TE630 for the dirt which has all the compression diaper out and just a little rebound damping in the rear. For the street I use more rebound damping front and rear as well as turning up the slow speed compression in the rear significantly and adding some high speed too. I use the Same springs and preload.
Funny, I somehow stumbled on this picture last night. I miss that DRZ, the roads, and the company. Good times... (I'm the Stumpy he's talking about in that picture, btw)
Is that looking over lake jocassee and Keowee? I rode those roads about two weeks ago! Here's mini and mega tard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I made one of the few Honda CRF250L into a Super Motard though I admit not a lot of "Super" when talking about a 25 hp bike. I love this bike though. With the big rubber, it's MUCH more stable in all conditions, stopping, highway in cross winds, rain.
Here is mine, We have a love hate relationship, any bike with 3 oil filters is going to give you problems, but mostly we are friends
I don't think multiple oil filters/screens is anything new. Do all the filters need to be serviced each time the oil is changed? 1983 Honda XL600R oil change procedure... http://www.hondaxl.it/download/Manuali/XL600R_honda/part_02.pdf Gotta love the low tech simplicity of my DR650 though. One filter, one drain plug. No hate...all love. Tech23
I've been an inmate since '09 and just now ran across this thread. Some really cool bikes here so I thought I'd pop a pic of mine in here. '01 XR650R/SM
Nice bike for sure. The Honda's always had supermotard potential because of their good looks. Although my KTM isn't too bad either. The Husqvarna Nuda was one evil looking piece though. I nearly had one last year, just couldnt get the seller to see it happening at the price i was offering
Thanks, and obviously I have to agree. To me, one of the hardest mods was finding a front fender that is less gargantuan than even a cut back stock one, that also matches in style and color. There are so many "Supermoto" fenders out there, but very few match the style of the XR fender. The one on my bike is off a CRF150, part # 61100-KPS-900ZA FENDER, FR. *R134* Fighting Red
There is a KTM dealer in Germany who keeps the Maico brand alive: http://www.ktm-koestler.de/en/maico-bikes/maico-shop/maico-models-2016.html Anyone interested in badass two stroke supermoto? 101 kg, 685 cc 2-stroke! They were even road legal when sold until 2015...
