Did you check the cylinder and head for warpage?

You're right about the gap around the radiators with the safari tank. A few bits of foam off cuts does the trick.

Dunno if the head was warped or not as SWM New Zealand replaced the engine under warranty.
As an ex engine rebuilder i suggest getting your head checked for warp and hardness tested.

Sad,,, but how did you end up with blown head gasket ?? You are saying radiator is leaking...

and you said "...i suggest getting your head checked for warp and hardness tested...."
What is that hardness test for head ? I just heard...:confused

Any decent engine shop should have a hardness tester. Aluminium heads can lose their hardness when they have been hot causing issues with gasket fretting down the track. Its generally not a problem on single cylinder engines as a lot of the softness is detected in the middle of a head between cylinders 2 and 3 on a 4 cyl head where the head has warped and been bending. Still not a bad idea to get it checked though.

can anyone tell me where to buy a motor protector for RS650R? With Nicola we realized that the frame tubes are not at the same height and this could cause problems with an unsuitable motor protector...[IMG]

I put a b and b bashplate on my RS650. Didn't notice the uneven framerails. Will check next oil change.

    Italians....

I would do search for TE630 and check the comments on forums etc... There should be enough ppl who tried what brand/model.

I would prefer carbon fiber or hard plastic types with letting easy oil change... Metal or Allu ones reflecting engine sound and increasing noice noticeably they say... Carbon/plastic s are more absorbing I guess

And if you really gonna cross over some woods or trees alluminum edges may not provide smooth enough surface .

I believe Italians have worked well for you 630 and new swm. I have a Te630 for 2 years and an aprilia pegaso 650 from 1995 with almost 200.000 km :-) Of course the rotax engines are unbeatable

On the subject of buying new things for the swm rs 650, does anyone know where to buy a front sprocket with a few less teeth. In sweden there isnt any dealer that i know about that has parts. but maybie if i knew which model fits i can find it easier. I also did try to find a bashplate but was unsuccessful. Accesories for the SWM is scarce and also for the husky te 630 nowdays
