Tune in next week for another episode of “My Brains Bigger Than Yours”.
In other news, Tesla is now self-sustaining and doesn't depend on fundraising:
I got in on the end of this on the news. But looks like GM will remodel an old plant to build electric pickup trucks. They should be on the market by 2023? Anybody see this? Or did I miss something?
Maybe. Has anyone seen it anywhere?
Did some searching and found this. Hope the link works. https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/home.html
Yes, but this is the only image:
Report by "Sky High News" 11:37 pm January 25th Grand County Sheriffs noticed a car driving slowly without any lights near Tabernash. After stopping the car, it was determined to be an electric vehicle. The driver was trying to get home on a low battery without anyplace to recharge.
Link worked for me. But it says GM will invest 2.2 billion to remodel a plant to produce electric trucks, and eventually other electric vehicles.
Lets try this one. https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm...tent/Pages/news/us/en/2020/jan/0127-dham.html
Thereby proving earlier claim to be unrealistic.
Actually the math is skewed in the other direction. Since doubling the weight of the batteries does not double the weight of the vehicle, the range exponentially increases, not decrease.
"your intellectual superiors" You make me laugh.
First, we're talking about compressed air, not batteries. Second, added weight also requires the increased weight of the supporting structures. Third, increased speed also requires more weight for structural integrity. Again, compare electric bicycle with electric motorcycle.
We have done nothing to avoid the inevitable. Enjoy what's left the planet will be fine.
Neither has any other species, ever. Why would ours be any different?
I drove a Chevy Bolt today. It had robust acceleration, and delicious regenerative braking in its "lo" gear. Almost as fun and punchy to drive as my modded TDI.
You haters can stop with the bullshit now.
Electric Cars Are Better For The Environment Than A 50 MPG Gasoline Car: Report
Not only do they already produce zero emissions in the process of driving, but even pollute far less than gasoline cars when you take into account the emissions generated in the production of the electricity needed to charge them, according to a new report from the Union of Concerned Scientists.
The latest data from 2018 regarding emissions from electricity generation in the US have just been released, and it proves that only 6% of Americans live in a region where EV power generation emissions are worse than a 50 mpg car.
And many coal plants closed since then, so it's even truer now.
How many of those power plants are powered as a result of Fracking? I don't know the answer, maybe not even a consideration. I don't know the answer, that's why I'm bring it up. Is that an issue? Most things have some sort of unintended collateral effects.
Those haters just need to ride a decent electric motorcycle and feel that instant torque. Hearing about it doesn't do it justice you really need to experience it for yourself.
