The wee did fantastic. It kept up with zero issues on the tarmac, and handles gravel surprisingly well. As expected, it is not intended for really rough terrain, but at lower speeds is very capable.

We had zero issues with either bike. Even when riding at slow speeds while fully loaded in 100+ degree temps.

Bob, cool trip...thanks for the great report! Good timing, with full sun and 45 plus temps today, this is just what I needed to start thinking about riding...motorcycles instead of snowmobiles. I love the Badlands as well as the challenge of getting there and back on the less traveled 2 lanes.

Bob, Thanks for the write-up and photos. I really like the big views and the scale of the landscape in the West.

The Black Hills area makes a great destination for a trip with that "out west" feel, yet is relatively close to the midwest.

What a great ride report and just the sort of tracks I'm looking to ride with the misses. What were your top 2 black hills rides?

The trip was all one big continuous loop, so there really are no individual "rides". All of it was fantastic riding. The scenery and terrain was constantly changing.

Very good road report. Been to the Black Hills many times but have not ridden there. Glad to see you skipped I-90. I will have to put it on the list.

Caribou Commandos on a set of Hepco Becker racks.

They work awesome! On and off the bike in seconds, plus they lock to the bike. Very well built.

I'm late to the party in saying thanks but there it is. Just shows it is about the adventure and not the destination. I've thoroughly enjoyed the trip and appreciate your putting it all together and sharing it with us. At 73, my 750 GS is ready for the bucket list trip - all I haven't decided yet is a direction out of WNC. God Bless and ride safe.
