Picked up my new 900 Rally Pro yesterday. I have long felt the Tiger 800 was the best bike ever made and had no complaints at all about my XCX (except for the windscreen) but it’s now relegated to 3rd place, with daylight second. Admittedly I’ve only done about 200km on road and 50 or so off road but ......
I’m leaving the OEM Bridgestones on for now. It will be while before I place it in the type of terrain that needs something more aggressive.
One disappointing observation is that I’m not convinced the windscreen is as good as on the 18/19 models but perhaps I’m just being picky.

I stop at this spot just about every time I ride through here and try to get a good reflection in the puddle. Maybe next time.

@Relbmarcs have you had any luck using the My Triumph App? How does it all work with your phone plugged in under the rear seat?

I’m still working it out. Got music, phone calls (in and dialing recents) and navigation going fine. Haven’t had a text notification show up and can’t work out how to access phone book or dial a number. SIRI should work I guess. I haven’t tried the GoPro connection, mainly because I don’t have a GoPro. The navigation is very cool, by the way.

My phone works fine in the tray, so no problem there. I just find it annoying to have to keep popping the seat the get to it. Wish it was in the dash somewhere or perhaps if the tray slid out from under the seat. I’ve run a charging cable from the tray into the seat bag that’s almost always on the seat. You do need to have the phone charging if you’re using navigation especially but having the app running generally seems to drain charge too.

There’s a frustrating niggle. As I have other bikes I have my headset registering direct with my phone and of course need a direct connection to the bike with Tiger. This means I have to get the phone to forget the headset after each time I use it on one of the other bikes otherwise, unless I start the Tiger before turning on the headset, it won’t connect through the app. You with me?

A less frustrating niggle but still a niggle is that everything shuts off instantly with the bike, so if you’re wanting to finish a phone call or even listen to the end of some music when you get home you have to leave the bike running. I guess this is more an observation. I haven’t checked what the kill switch does to it though - as I never use it. Side stand switch might be the answer...

@Relbmarcs Thank you so much for all the great information! I understand some of your challenges. The idea of routing the phone to a tail bag is a great idea. I would get tired of removing the seat all the time. Do you know of a good source for various upgrades such as skid plates or upper crash bars. Seems like the bike is so new that the only upgrades available are through Triumph. Thanks again

I’ve not been able to find anyone doing accessories yet. I’ve fitted the Triumph upper bars but would prefer ( and may swap to later) Hepco and Becker, as fitted to my 800. They’re OK but nowhere near as robust as the H&B plus they only come in silver - and not quite a perfect match to silver engine bars. WTF!? I’ve had mine powder coated but as soon as H&B make some I‘ll probably switch them over. The OEM engine bars on the other hand seem really solid and look great (now that they’re black).

No bash plates yet either. By far the best aftermarket bash plate I’ve found was by Evotech and I had one on my Thruxton. I’ll wait to see if they do one for the Tiger. Black would be nice.

The seat bag is a Motodry.

Here's my new to me '13 800 XC. Love this bike by the way! First pic is a screenshot from the seller when I bought it a couple months ago. Second pic is from the same day on the way home.

The last time I had been in this field it was dry and I crossed it with a KZ1100 on street tires. I really was not expecting this, took way to long to get myself out of this mess.

Short last minute ride for coffee in Ball Ground, GA last weekend. Thinking about listing her for sale. Excellent bike but ready to try something different.
