IT was on sale for about A year ago , from A German guy called vmd321. Now it is out of stock, regret not to buy it then..... Cost about 150 euro. Not shure if IT was old stock or repro. Hope someone make A reproduction of all plastic fit TT600RE. Seems like all new old stock is far gone....

    Hi guys!

I'm trying to get my 2001 tt600r going for the past year, have some CDI trouble and I'm getting frustrated. I know that is CDI, because with another original CDI that I borrowed bike was working, and the one that was inside was also working for some time after I baked it in an oven.
So I bought one cheap aftermarket one and it doesn't work, even though it has a strong spark - stronger than original one. In the beginning this one at least produced a bang somewhere in exhaust and now I cannot reproduce it, which I find weird. Could maybe have to do something with wires that come our of cdi - I punctured one with a probe to test it (but original cdi still works after that). I tried the replacement for it, which has seemingly even stronger spark but also doesn't work. Maybe something I could try still with that?
Then I ordered another aftermarket one from a seller in Europe, but I don't know when I will get it shipped and I'm thinkiing of canceling order, since the cancelation period will run out and I get no reply from them anymore, so I'm looking for another solution. I'm looking at this:

    https://hpi.be/item.php?item=CD4611D

I found one user on this forum saying this box worked. Any other info or recommendation? I don't want to buy original one, since they are expensive, already old and have weak spark on top of it.

    Thanks!

I've gotten several cdi"s from them for various bike models/makes. Always worked good. Usually not a long wait either.

The newer TCI's(solid state) on those newer Yami's generally are pretty reliable but if a known good one allows it to run then it should be the issue.

Hi , I don't think it will even though the label is marked as 98-03 . It's not the same shape as mine ( see pic ) - mine doesn't have the holes where the seat fits or the cut outs in the side of the tank . I think it's for the earlier model . I'm sure someone else will be along in a while to confirm , Cheers Glenn 20200804_132856.jpg 20200804_132856.jpg 20200804_132912.jpg 20200804_132856.jpg 20200804_132912.jpg 20200804_132912.jpg

    Hi Glenn

I searched internet for pics but I only found this tank fitted to earlier TT's
    With kickstarter
    [IMG]

    And Electric starter
    [IMG]

But strangely Acerbis.com for this Code of tank mentions

    YAMAHA TT 600 KICK STARTER 1993 / 1994 / 1995 / 1996 / 1997YAMAHA TT 6OO ELETRIC STARTER 1998 / 1999 / 2000 / 2001 / 2002 / 2003

    Upper application fits from here

Ps. Your bike looks great :thumb

    Hi Dominatoras
    You're on to it.
The TT600RE will have a different tank to the TT600 Belgarda 93-97 due to the seat profile I believe...

Bike belongs to a friend of mine, we found this tank to a very low price (instead of pricier 20lt acerbis) so that's why I'm asking if someone has fit it to RE.
    Thanks everyone for replies.

    Hi @Dominatoras
Your original question is asking if it will fit the RE / electric start model yes??
Depending on how it’s being sold you could ask to buy it with an option to return if it doesn’t fit?
If the wrong label has been applied in an attempt to sell dishonestly, the seller is unlikely to agree, whereas an honest seller maybe willing with you covering the additional freight?
Just an idea - if it’s that good a deal but your still not sure
