I watched Vance's story unfold real time. I had to go back and read the Baja segment for a good laugh. I hadn't seen him in a long time and wish that wasn't the case. You'll be missed, Vance.

Another epic journey that we all hope we can aspire to.

Ride on Vance, you inspired many of us to get outside our comfort zones.

This was the very first ride report that I ever read on ADV. Vance opened up a whole new way of thinking about travel for me and my number of states visited on 2 wheels has steadily grown because of a seed that his trip planted. Ride forever big guy and thank you for the stories.

I've been on the FB or RL so much that I haven't been around here much. Vance is one of the first ADVers I corresponded with when I started in 2007 and is one of dozens here that are true, true friends. The humor and perspective he exhibited are unique, wonderful. I'm sorry I never met him in person, such is the way of things here I suppose. I'm so, so sorry that he's gone.

You all have meant so much to me, and what you mean to each other has meant even more. Much love to all of you, and to Vance and his family. XOs brothers and sisters.

This place continues to amaze me. Certain threads will lead to another, then a search then more threads, and people, and stories. It's amazing the people I get to know, who through tragedy and life aren't really gone at all because their stories and the people they've touched live on.

As someone who hasn't been around a long time, it's always neat to find these old threads adding so much more perspective to some the folks I've enjoyed reading since I've come aboard. Grateful for this place to hold so many memories and experiences for others to find and share. I would've enjoyed meeting you Vance. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Shoot, This was one of the first threads I read way back when. Hadn't known the ending till it came back from the depths of pages. Enjoy the ride in the sky big guy.

I have just attempted reading through the thread - all the pics are gone. What a pity. But how can you not keep back ups of your pics on a HDD, seriously ...
