    You may want to consider prepaying (6 months or so) any recurring monthly bills like Net service, cell phone, insurance, Penthouse subscription, etc. That helps some people feel a little more free and with fewer worries.

    Just an idea.

    Good luck, enjoy safe travel where ever you end up going. If you end up near Charlotte, NC you are welcome to free lodging, food, beer, and garage space with tools for service, repair, tire changing, etc.

    Happy and safe travels!

    If you find yourself anywhere near Park City Utah on your trip, the guest bedroom/bath is open to you, along with a fairly well equipped shop, high speed internet, cold beer and hot food. We're right off I-80 on the way to/from Sturgis.

    Your livin' a dream, man.

    Man, there is something about riding “carefully” that will get you killed! I am carefully preparing for this trip on the 16th. Running around on the bike, buying spare parts, making sure that everything is working perfectly, changing all fluids, just basically feeling great about the bike and everything packed inside of it.

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

    I am running to the library daily to keep up with emails and contact some friends on the East Coast and whatever, bla, bla, bla. I am riding really “carefully,” making sure to look at every intersection and every car that might pull out and just taking extra care as I want to make it out of this fucking city and to Mexico in one piece. Fucking A if I have not had 3 close encounters in the last week. Fucking morons I tell ya! I am going the speed limit, so I guess this means to them that it is OK to just pull out and ram into my ass.

    <o:p></o:p>

    I swear to God if I make it out of here without a serious case of road rage it will only be due to the fact that I have screamed FUCK! Inside of my helmet so loud that my earplugs fly out of my head! I’m going back to ripping around town, splitting traffic like I usually do. Ride safe…and apparently aggressive ya’ll.[IMG]

    Hey Vance,
    I know it's too cold now, but PM me if you get into central Colorado- Got a little guest cabin in Salida you're welcome to use. Dinner and a beer for good stories. Cabin even has heat if you're here when it's cold!

    Vance, what kind of memory does you camera use?
    Mine uses compact flash, I'm thinking of buying a CF reader w/ USB, this way I'll rarely worry about hooking up the camera to any computer, just plug in the reader via USB, it could work a lot smoother on other's machines.
    CF reader/writers can be found $10-20... FYI...

    Shoot...I can't remember what it is called, but i know it has a regular memory card (about an inch long by 3/4 inches) and then something called a "duo" stick that you can ad. It came with a 32mb stick and I bought another 128mb stick, so I can take about 65 pictures at the highest resolution (4 mega pixels)

    I was planning on just doing some written updates once or twice per week and then posting links to my smugmug account when I can find a friend on the way who will let me load the pics. My camera came with "camera driver software" that has to be loaded onto a machine to grab the pictures. I could not figure out how to open the camera from IE like you mentioned. If there is a device where I could just stick the memory card into... and USB to a Kinkos machine without downloading software...that would be great!

    I am just waiting to get paid on the 4th of the month and was going to go to Frys and have them help me out if I don't figure it out here first. Your idea sounds great. I'll try and remember to look at the name of the stick when I go home. (back and forth to the library and home! BRAIN DAMAGE!)

    Dude! You rule! You should work at Frys. I'll just get one and I should be able to use Kinkos everywhere. (most librarys don't have the boxes where you can see them, just the screens, keyboards and mice) Mice? hahahaha

    Anyway...problem solved. I will just quickly use kinkos to upload to smugmug and then go to the libraries to do the updates.

    Thanks!

    PS...I use gerbils for tampons.[IMG]

    OK...here is my first attempt at linking from my smugmug account with a few pictures...here goes:

    Tekillya_John came over last night and bought up the last of my stuff and had a beer with me (in his own chair as I have none) :-)

    <img src="https://vanceforster.smugmug.com/photos/10624302-M.jpg">

    Smugmug is up...

    https://vanceforster.smugmug.com/

    Looks like some places identify my camera as a hard drive through IE, but still won't let me upload pictures in the "drag and drop" feature of smugmug. (or maybe it's just down? there is a little red X in the upper left of the drag and drop box...) Firewall issues? Who knows... I shoulda bought a laptop...but that would have put me out of the loop for Baja...and I don't want to miss that.

    The idea that is reflected in that photo is just really cool.

    Look me up when you come thru Denver, beer and dinner and a couch to sleep on is on me.
