    We've had some nice sunny days this week although today is kinda windy. I had to go by the nursing home to drop off some Medicaid documents & swung by a friends place nearby for a lil BS time. Then took the long way home..... looooooong

    I've been tinkerin with the Tenere today...extra FIAMM horn install.
    & ....now I gotta cut some grass....(the yard type)

    Grabbed lunch. Take-out, of course.

    I couldn’t get over the amount of motorcyclists that were out and about. Nice day for it (76* and sunny).

    We're on Week 4 of strict Lockdown here in Spain!

    This is going to continue till the 26th April at the very least.

    I can see it going on till mid May........so the Strom just sits here!

    Looking through my digital files, this one from September last year. A ride over the beautiful Glen Quaich winding road, such a beautiful tranquil spot..!
    I ride this route often as it brings you into Aberfeldy/Kenmore/Killin etc...

    Perfect riding weather today so I enjoyed a fine day of riding around East Tennessee. First order of business, Foothills Pky. No traffic and no cops. I made my way thru Deals Gap, meeting one truck and no bikes. I parked at the store and checked out the Tree of Shame. I was the only rider at the store.

    I then rode over to the Graham County, N.C line where I was turned around by local authorities. I rode back to the Foothills Pky. I met two bikes going back. I then made my way into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, enjoying the sparse traffic. I stopped for a cool drink from my thermos where I narrowly escaped a shark attack and figured I'd best high tail it back home. All in all a good day of riding.

    Well this week I added "The Beak" to my 2012. (I know, it's "controversial"!) I'd say that since I have that big ol' Madstad hanging off the front, it makes it look more "balanced:"

    So of course, I had to try it out! I'd say the bike has about 10 more horsepower now. (Ha!) :photog Beautiful weather, excellent ride, and oh yea THIS happened. :D

    wOw 50k miles...... congratulations....! Have you maybe adjusted your bikes standard gearing and either taken one tooth off front sprocket, or, added two extra teeth to the rear sprocket (as I've done) ? It makes for an improvement for acceleration, better get up and go..........just a thought..!

    I'd never return to standard gearing on my V-Strom ever again. I so love that orange colour of your V-Strom!

    It's probably unique now, in that it's the only 2012 (at least maybe in my "Great Lakes" area?) with a beak. As for gearing, I have tractored this beast down many a muddy "seasonal road" in northern Michigan (and the Upper Peninsula), and it has done pretty well on those occasions. I've replaced the original chain and front sprocket a while ago but have kept the gearing stock. (Actually I hadn't ever considered changing gearing on the Strom, but I may do so in the DR650.) Thanks for the tip though!

    Query/advice please,;

    I've a 2007 (K7) model V-Strom DL1000 which as standard has an exhaust on each side.
    Are there any Race pipes available that turn it into a 2-into 1 instead does anyone know..?

    I'm based in Scotland, UK. Any suggestions appreciated.

    Cheers;

    Mac,
    I’ve not seen any made by a vendor. I have seen a few threads on forums where someone cut off the left side at the H pipe, welded the hole closed and converted the stock system to right side only.

    Sure do enjoy and admire your photography.

    I'm right behind you RedEx... about 400 miles away from 50k on my 2012.

    I hope I don't miss the picture.

    I am still riding to work as I must be essential.......dang it.

    107,000 km on my 2012 so about 67,000 miles I missed the 100,000 photo just did not think it was that important. The bike before this one was a F650 gs single and I did get the 100,000 km photo on it.
