Awesome! By the way those look like really nice side bags.
Thanks, but they're not, really!
I use the top bag all the time but had the side bags laying around for years. The mounting system is very old school, just two straps across (under) the seat. So I was never able to mount them on any other bikes securely.
I removed the hard bags for this trip because I knew we were going to do some gravel and didn't want the extra weight. The First Gear bags mounted up nice to the Givi racks with some extra bungees and zip ties.
But we had a shit ton of rain from the hurricane bands, and the bags aren't even CLOSE to watertight, even with the rain covers on. Everything I had got soaked.
V-Strom vs Ghost
Great looking bike. The foot pegs - brand/where they came from - please.
They were on when I bought it. Very comfortable!
That is the "Pat Walsh Designs". He made that design for the original V-stroms back in the day. A true unicorn if you can find a set.
Headed out this afternoon on the Strom to a lovely forest location called 'Cliesh', Central Scotland. The past week we've had nothing but rain/rain/rain.....and temps averaging 10 degrees or so. Thought I'd take advantage of a bit of sunlight and dry roads for a change;

Comfortable riding weather is almost at an end here in the Pacific Northwest. Here's one from today.
Probably the last ride of the year here in WI yesterday. The oddball 70-degree temps will be replaced by the more normal 30s and 40s mid-week.
Any time you can ride in November here it’s a bonus.
Taking a shortcut through the desert.

"refreshment" stop on the appropriately named "jug hollow rd" on last saturday's ride in calhoun co. il....
We had some great weather last weekend in SE Wisconsin.
Is that the Hoan bridge in the background?
Good eyes! That is the Hoan Bridge.
I was living there when part of it collapsed. Turned my 35 minute commute into close to 90 minutes in the afternoons, downtown to Cudahy
Nice looking fog-lights and engine bars. What brand are they (lights and bars), if you don't mind? I have a 2019 V-Strom.
- fog lights:
some chinese brand from amazon (the brand name seems to have changed since i bought them, but the specs are the same)
heed from europe (delivery took about 2wks)
the lights make you very visible in daylight/dusk/dawn - almost to the point of making the headlight invisible - & really light up the road at night....
the happy trails skid plate is almost a perfect fit to the bars - the left & rt bottom crossover bars are asymmetrical so you have to use a u-clamp to attach the bars to skid plate on the rt side....

Did you get to ride a lap?
