Whether you are a new rider or have a bit of experience under your belt, whether you ride a big bike or a small bike, the T2T Exploration Route is just a ton of good fun! The route contains lots of sweeping gravel roads as it leads you through a 331 km loop of the lower Canterbury area. It makes a brilliant weekend trip with your riding buddies.

Almost worth getting a KTM for. I've lived in the Far North and Bay of Islands for decades and I'm struggling with a lot of those places.

You dont need a KTM to see those places. A Yamaha was used to set out the Northland part of that event.......

Lol, it was just for an invite. Looking forward to the full feature. I'm guessing a fair bit of the event was on private land?

No....mostly public, but some key private and forest land use to join public roads and tracks. Turned out harder to organize than we envisioned. Those big KTM twins are reasonably capable but some of the riders not so much. On the Sunday ride up to the Cape we had an easy main track and a choice of 10 other tracks with 3 grades to cover all levels. Getting down Te Paki stream was a problem for some of the less experienced. Storm damage from 4 months ago (Its been "closed" by DOC since then) left us with about 400 metres of either very deep soft dry sand or very soggy sand to negotiate. We had an extremely capable rider on hand to get some of the bikes thru that section.
I was up at Te Paki yesterday and am happy to report that heavy rain a few days ago has gouged a new stream bed so its now easily rideable again.

    freakin awesome :clap:clap:clap

Gonna have to practice my clutch skills till they get boring to have even a remote chance of lifting the Tigers font end. Doubt my E07 is up to it on anything other than hard pack gravel or seal though...the inline triple spins up pretty easy on anything not glued down :fpalm

    AT Porn? Meet Ron Jeremy.

Well worth watching through this series of vids for Antipodean, yeah, na, yeah, attitude. Watch to about 7:25, and onwards if it floats your boat. The legend on the AT ain't shy.

Very impressive. Interesting that he didnt finish though. Or maybe he got bored and shot off home.

Anyway I should have said vintage AT porn...as in about 7 RD07s in a line.
