I tried, but had no luck with it.
It was great meeting you at Barbers. You are an inspiration. I would like some information on where your place in Bulgaria is located. We might be in Greece next year and would like to visit.
A humbling ride report to be sure.
Hey man me and my roommate have been watching "Long Way Round" and while that may be a cool account of a trip around the world, they just didn't do it like you did! Every step of their way I was thinking "these guys just don't add up to that guy on Advrider with the old-school Harley and Indian... Congrats on being one of the most badass circumnavigators on the planet and keep on a rockin'!!!!!
Peace, Love, and Hair Grease!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally caught back up...
Great to see you made it home. Hope your transition back into the day to day goes well. It's gotta be tough. Thanks for taking the time, Doug. Truly inspiring.
Now, to go get caught up in that garage thread...
This is the best report on here by a country mile - congrats doug - you is the man.
I know this may be getting redundant, but I gotta say it anyway. Simply outstanding ride report. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us. Hopefully the next time that I am down in Bama I can have the honor of sharing a Dr. Pepper with ya.
I was lucky enough to have had gall bladder surgery Thursday morning. Lucky I say cause I got to recover in my lazboy reading the whole damn awesome report! Even doped up I couldnt stop readin. Down here in south bama sayin unbelievable report Doug!
Both your real one, and the one you gave us here...
Here's mine...would have been quicker if work hadn't got in the way!:ddog
Keep it up Doug, BTW, my wife's from BG and I'm planning a European trip next year so I'll try and make it to your place (Hopefully she'll stay with the family in Varna and I'll grab a few days of Bad Behavior )
was nice to meet you also. I met so many people at barbers it was hard to remember everyone, so Im glad you posted a picture!
My place in BG is about in the middle of the country. Be glad to have you visit.
More info & directions on my website
I'll be hosting a horizons unlimited meeting there next july, & will probably do an ADVrider meet sometime also.
contact me before you come, as Im thinkin that it'll be fun to take some time & visit the middle east next summer. The moto camp is open tho, even when Im not there
(well, not in the winter, those BG winters are brutal)
Great thread! Makes me want to ditch routine life and head out for some adventure. Thanks for sharing.
I got this magazine in the mail today, Tennessee Auto & RV trader. hahahaha
Pretty cool tho, and I thank Scooter for writing it up.
I have a german mag interested also, but they are talking about 10,000 words. thats damn near a friggin book!
I think thats a bit much for me.
A couple buddies and I are from Missouri and we did 4 days in the Rockies on our KLR's in the Royal Gorge area.
On the day we decided to check out the Gorge, we happened to bump into this suspicious looking guy on a Harley in the parking lot. He started telling these wild tales about where he'd been around the world, and that he was on his way home to Alabama. As he talked I started remembering his thread and thought "what the crap"!
Got a photo for nostalgia's sake and have posted it as well as one of the three of us to refresh your mind, Doug.
It was great meeting you. Glad you made it home safe and sound. What a trip and thanks for taking us all along.
it was nice to meet yall. I hope the rest of your trip went well. it was a bit windy out there, wasnt it? hahaha
one of these days I'll post pics from the last part of the trip.
Tell the other guys I said hi
I second that!
have confidence my friend. You can do it. If you divide the words up by the countries you have been to and folks you have met then the word count is pretty dang low.
Now get to it.
Hey Doug, great ride reports, and you missed us by just that...much. You could have had a home cooked meal instead of Truckee food.
By the way Truckee is the home of many ADV riders.
Stop by next time.
So how much for the bike?
Just kidding! I started reading your report about the time you hit Mongolia. So far this IS(was) the best RR I have read!
Now I have to find your RR on the Indian. Later
thats a badassed picture you made there. I wonder if I can make a poster out of it? I'll try an 8x10 first.
thanks alot. Im no good at that graphics stuff.
Feel free to add stuff to any pics that I have (well, except the ones with the shims in it!)
