Thanks, I have a parts catalog but just moved and cannot find a thing! Could not find the link to download. Got everything ordered and bought the filter (outer foam) off of ebay.de. Glad you said 640, that is what I ordered from Welbers USA. Thanks again for your help.

Took these two beauties for a spin today: my '85 XLV750R and the '98 XL600V Transalp which joined the stabble two weeks ago ;) November 8th, 17 degrees Celsius. Exceptional, but I could get used to the climate chance.

This is my 2nd one @arcaneman. The roadsign says 'topple', or 'Fall Over', a little hamlet in Groningen Province, Northern Netherlands. But I did not drop it! ;) :lol3

Thanks, well your correct. They never were sold sold in the US. I acquired through a broker from Japan. And very glad I did. I know of one more in the US, and oddly enough it is within 200 miles from me in a collection.

Is it any one who had a problem with the engine running lean? It's hesitate when attempt to accelerate after a downhill and when running in ~80 km/h it backfires up the carbs. I have cleaned the carbs and checked fuel filter etc. but it still run like a pig. Jets are originals. Seems like it worse when air temp is on the low side. Any suggestions?[IMG]

Would recommend the same @Bell driver ! I found the old VT500 Shadow as an very good donor bike for certain parts for the XLV. But the partnumers can differ a little; as I experienced while retrieving the carburettor for my XLV restoration project. The units seem to be exactly the same, but the partnr are different.

Probably the most prized possession on the parts shelf:
A NOS Center shift fork. Made of unobtainium, delivered straight from the Netherlands. Gotta love the Dutch.:freaky
