Ive seen hippie bus+bugs with and without functioning top wipers :)

the old VW bug wiper motors are pretty simple and easy to rig up there, but if the bug windshield bottom is flush with the top of the bus like that, they stick down into the bus some, and you need some kinda cover for the linkage or its really fugly.

the neatest one I saw had a couple "captains chairs" that swiveled on pillars that were up in the bug space...

Awesome report Doug, interesting all the way, you have a real eye for interesting photos and I love all those old bikes, still don't understand how the bottom of your saddlebag made it though

    Good day,

Did some googling and found the following:

The Roikkaralli has in the recent years been arranged in the first half of July at various places in Finland. It is arranged by Ural Roikka (http://uralroikka.net/sivut/) the association of Russian bike owners (+Chinese Changjiang boxers) in Finland.

In the 2010 Pyhäjoki meeting some 200 bikes from Finland, Russia and Sweden participated. Here some videos on the Roikkaralli activities http://www.veoh.com/collection/UralRoikka and some photos as well http://picasaweb.google.fi/kmz.k750/Roikkaralli2010#

In 2011 the meeting is scheduled to take place at a camping site in Taipalsaari in southeastern Finland (http://www.saimaanranta.fi/fi/sijainti/) and the date is for time beeing set to 15-17.07.2011 (http://uralroikka.net/pulinat/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5911). In addition to bringing your own tent you can stay in cabins as well.

In case you need help with the translation please let me know.

    Doug,

Just wanted to comment and say "Thanks' for a great report" Its been like reading a great novel. I only have time to read so far, then can't wait to get back to it. The Pictures are awesome! I would have never dreamed of riding a Harley in the manner you have, but I will have to say "I really Like 75 Shovel with 50/50 tires"! That bike is cool!
If you ever up in Southern Ohio, Look me up. I'll buy ya dinner.
