I think a lot of it comes down to lifestyle. Doug doesn't strike me as one to have an elaborate lifestyle on the road or at home. When you adopt that lifestyle, travel become much more attainable.

that (i.e. lifestyle) and not being married or having kids helps a lot as well.

I think you and cynicwanderer are both right...to a limited degree.

remember now...Doug has been doing this year after year...PLUS...he does own, and continues to buy more of the most gnarly murdercycles around!!!:freaky :clap :norton .....and then goes on to even more traveling!!!

(who sais crime doesn't pay???) :lol3

I'm just tryin to understand how Doug is able to accomplish so much. Why, I think it's highly admirable!....so why is it wrong to talk about it??

If I can learn what another guy does to make his dreams come true...then maybe I can learn something I can apply to my own situations & dreams.
I, for one, would genuinely like a shot at a RTW m/c trip. And what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another.

But to pass up an opprotunity to learn something new, simply because I was afraid to simply ask a few questions???....NEVER!

it's a valid question. maybe worthy of it's own thread. i.e. how to manage an adventure lifestyle, or something like that.

I won the irish lottery, a million bucks!

payable in installments of 1.00 a year, for a million years.

Its wonderful, but you have to learn how to budget.

yep, Im livin the high life now!

Doug, it was good to meet you at the Barber Vintage Festival. Your next summer trip to Magadan will give me something to read while I'm sitting in Iraq.

There are things that are our business and there are things that are not.
There are things you talk about around the campfire and there are things you talk about on a forum.

Knowing which and when is half the battle.

I wouldn't have thought Christian Ministries and Limousine Services, would necessarily go hand in hand either...

But I do appreciate all the unsolicited advice, on what we can and cannot discuss on this thread. :thumb

For me the question is NOT "how he finds the time and money".
    The real question is
"How the heck he does it with Harley?" . :huh

I mean most of people rides enduros or dual purpose bikes to those places.
And there he is with harley which is his creation.

    Now this is the challenge.

Well done RR and great tour, congratulations.
