And with a little prep and less attitude you can use the tent list to get a place with one of us flying fucks.

Cabo verde is also like that, it has more citizens in the Boston area than on its islands!

Maybe Doug and Luke (aka Fishfund) are hiding together in some unknown location of unfinished ride reports?

    Fascinating report!

    Any plans on doing SEA?

You'd be treated like a godman riding a critter like that over here!

Given the prep that went into that bike it's remarkable you had the trouble you had.

Maybe next time do it in an Aeronca Champ!:evil

My one & only new years resolution, 'finish my damn ride report from last year!'
(I find that if I keep my goals small, they are easier to attain!)

I left Ankara heading to Istanbul. It was pretty damn cold, windy, & a little wet off n on. I was really missing the 100+ temps of the east, but wasnt missing the

people, they are alot nicer in this part of Turkey. Not a very exciting road either, mostly just rolling hills. I kept mostly dry until I got about 120km from Istanbul, &

    then the bottom fell out.
It was raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock, & I couldnt see shit. I noticed a car riding behind me, with their hazard lites on, & was thankful for that, as maybe I

wouldnt get run over by a truck!
I finally saw a gas station, & puled off to let the rain let up, & the car did also.
Turns out it was 3 bike riders from Sakarya, the next town up the road. Was very nice of them to make sure I got somewhere without gettin run over!
One of the guys was Erol, & he told me he owned a biker bar in town, & invited me to stop by & dry off. I always like to stop & meet people, so why not!
We headed on to town, & hit more hard rain. We finally got to town, & to the bar. Its a nice small place, right in the middle of town. Erols english is about as good

as my turkish, but he had friends to translate. He offered to let me spend the night, and as I knew I wasnt going to get to Istanbul by dark, so why not!
Plus, I didnt want to hit more damn rain! As I didnt want to be a bother, I decided to get a hotel room, as there was one almost right across the street. He offered

to let me stay with him, but I like having my own room, plus, it was cheap :)

After I got dry clothes on, I hung out at the bar all night, everyone there was so cool, my money was no good, they wouldnt let me pay for anything. Very cool

guys, & I look forward to visiting them again. They put my bike in the bar for the night, so I didnt have to worry about it.

The next morning I went to the bar, & he has a flooring business next door, so we hung out a bit, & he even gave me a vest with his club patch on the back,

Sakarya Motorcycle Club. That was way cool, I didnt really know what to say about that. I tried to buy us breakfast, but he wouldnt even let me do that. I'll look

forward to visiting Sakarya again. If only all of turkey was like the western part!

    Erols bar
I really liked the old BMW above the door

He also had a pet monkey. He was real friendly & playful. All the locals knew him, & would come by giving him treats.

many people came during the night to drink & hang out

    yeah, I know.......
anyhow, I'm in the middle of doin a RR on takin the knuckle to the keys last week, & realized I'd better finish this one also.

The Dirtster project is comin along good, wheel hubs have been sent off to buchanans to be laced up to black alloy rims. its a pretty fast build actually, since Im not having to rebuild the motor.

i bet you're behind on that build report too. haven't seen any activity by you in that thread in a little while. what're ya doin', riding or something?? but if i would get off my lazy but and build some stuff or actually go outside my 20 mile comfort zone radius i'd never be on here either. probably wouldn't even know it exists.
keep on keepin' us entertained bro.
