Clearly, I underpriced my 8.3 DR spring (msg 15147), as it was dibbed by a respectable inmate in fifteen minutes.

So how much money did I leave on the table? Obviously I am out of touch on market valuation for DR rear springs.

What would you be willing to pay for a once in a lifetime opportunity spring owned by HellsAlien? I realize I'm no Steve McQueen, at least until I'm dead. But by then I won't care and you guys will get a chance to bid on all the other crap in my estate (except @Road Rash he gets a special "gutter" present.)

Good luck! I say that with all sincerity, given the ridiculous market that we exist in for any type of recreational vehicles or equipment or gear.

However, I would also toss out the recommendation to up your budget, and look for a new prior year bike. Those in a small size frame are actually sometimes available.

Every 5 years or so I typically buy a new mountain bike during the winter, getting a good deal on a prior model year. But that has not been the case this winter. But I did score a new bike for $5700 compared to $6400 retail, after 4 months of shopping. I know, that's crazy, considering what a motorized dirt bike costs.

Consider buying online from some makers like YT or Commencal.

If the rider is in any way serious, $2,000 is the bare minimum. $4,000 these days is a mediocre bike.

Edit: And and go for 27.5 or 29 if you can. 26 is old school.

I would also suggest Canyon as an online resource for a mountain bike. Their outlet sometimes has great deals. I bought both my road and mountain bikes there. The road bike sees more action than the mountain bike though.

Thx. My wife and I have 27.5s, and the kiddo is on wife's old Enduro. A Longshot, but maybe someone on here is thinking about upgrading, etc.

Did I miss out on a DR650 deal? I'm thinking that may be my next bike but I'm just having too much fun working on small old bikes. they're a blast when you aren't wrenching on em too.

You know the guy, and he still has his old DR650 that might be a deal. Check with S1MARKS.
