    Hi, Gang!

Y'all missed my April desert run! :dirtdog

    I missed it too :photog

All the greatest plans and traditions, covid~ed away... and the Co. (company) put me on hot reserve. I could not say no, as I was once of the lucky ones at the end not to be laid off... that was try number one. No April desert run... oh well... very happy to still have a paycheck! And plans only got bigger :evil So. New shoes for The Crow!

Take number two! Co. said I can have an extended time off. So dreamer's mileage went up for 2k to ~5k. Now i gotta think about doing an oil change in the woods! :scratch Right when I was trying to figure that part out, Co. said, get to work! :lol3

Gladly. I still need to find that cloud where my mind has left me.... I actually remember how to start the engines... checklists are good! :deal

Now. Take number three! The Crow is mostly ready... so here is a lousy garage pic as of right now. Much better shots tomorrow! :lift

This will be my first attempt at a "on the go RR"! :pynd Wish me luck with that! :smile6 A lot of it! :rofl I know I will need it, as I have never done it yet... and oh... send me even more luck in two weeks! As my Co. strangely scheduled me for work for one day, potentially halving this madness that i drew up in the Goog Earth...

    [IMG] q

I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, Like the most of us, very hard to explain why you're mad, Even if you're not mad. :loco

Over ambitious? Definitely. Will I take too many photos, turn full on racer or crash out the second day?! Who knows.

    Are you in?!

Lookin' forward to this one @flying.moto! I'll keep checking this thread, hope the work crap settles out and you're able to focus on this adventure in its entirety :D :D

Get on the horn as you make your way into OR and anywhere near PDX. Seriously hope the fires in northern CA and other areas in CA don't impact you or your route; some serious $hit going on with that.

    :hmmmmm:smile6:lol3:dirtdog:oscar:oscar
oh yeah. madness for sure! Day one placed me on some gnarly jeep trails... after all the desert racing and remembering the steppes of Wyoming.... 300 miles down and i’ve only gone 100 as the crow flies :bluduh

mostly due to SoCal’s hate for dirt riding i guess... locked gates, suddenly private property in the NF lands... what gives!

but, on the good note! A lot of my adventures seem to start right here! I guess desert call is strong regardless...

    Mojave!

let’s try full view... this is gonna get me digititis...

Hmm, either i’m doing something wrong or it takes 5 minutes to load the embed dialogue on the phone :dirtdog

on the flip side i figured out how to get the proper links from Smugmug! I bet im gonna run out of patience soon :lol3

But before that, the one road sign we all love to see at the beginning of any adventure! :thumb

    Lets roll! :ricky

Passing by a few donkeys... i knew i should have taken the right turn and not the left! The correct canyon is over there! :smile6

i seem to have misplaced the photo of the horses but... you all know what they look like... slightly dusty and preferably with fresh knobbies on!

finally! Detours and trackbacks later, some bliss riding, let’s Braaaaaap! :ricky

Clean mountain air, and not too hot! This is looking good!

all the hillclimbs on this mountain lead to the shitter number 5! woohoo!

gotta do what ya gotta do!

    but then!full steam ahead!

This track surprisingly was getting better and better! i even started to think that i might just get lucky again, and now the western half of “california motorized trail system” will take a win after all.... but for now, Stellvio pass? :hmmmmm

Bliss! Should have droned it but... was too busy riding to even remember i had one! i guess it’s been a while....

After a brief lunch stop at Don Sombrero in Bodfish, (excellent carnitas!) the mountain continued to call!

this was just a teaser as the trail quickly turned into a looooong first gear technical grinder...

shortly after this section, did you know? Superman’s real name is not Clark...

    It’s Bob! :photog

Unfortunately, i did not meet him. maybe its gotten a bit too hot

After i tired of waiting for him to show up, took a long enough break... on with the show! But wait... what was that? I turned around and found a moonshiner’s dream!

i mean, a bit tacky jeep trail, long ass rutted and rocky hilclimb to get there by, and, i bet them sheds have more than a few rakes in there :photog:beer

the backside to that trail was quite long before it got anywhere... it’s a cool cabin indeed!

but, the sun was getting lower, and this little spot winked at me~

So, Day Two tomorrow! (if i get into reception like right now. i still hear the highway. not far enough....)

Outstanding @flying.moto! Great to see pics of the desert and you out there enjoying it. Bummer Bob didn't show up to hang for a bit, but better to make tracks. And that camp spot looks fantastic.

Safe travels and knobby side down man.
