Yeah, when I was working, driving the 4x4 up there, it was spooky the first years. Picked a few blokes out of the scrub and decided not to be there if at all possible subsequently. Did take the cancer kids out a few times, up to Kosci, as a work thing, but in my time.

    The Snowie is nothing.

Try riding the IOM on a 100cc.

I happened to be riding through when the Snowy Ride was on one year. Nearly head on with a boy racer on a CBR250Rrrrrrrgh. Another year, when I participated with some mates from the Northern Rivers, I was astounded that there could be so many who couldn't ride out of sight on a dark night, had no consideration for on coming traffic and blind crests/curves. I've not been back, either.

Maragle Powerline lookout.jpg Nah Nah, Russ beat ya!
Not favourite, just been there a few times because it's a day ride and there are a couple of ways to get there and back.
Maragle Powerline track, near Talbingo / Tumut 2 power station.
Word of warning, the sidetrack just a hundred metres or so past this track may finish with a period of weighlessness, if you get a bit enthusiastic and inattentive, coming up to it.

The road into Selwyn had a few great spots also. The tar, not so much the dirt past Kings Cross.
