I guess the rally must be over. Last one out get the lights................
Why aren't you out riding? Remember - no whining.
I thought it wasn't a rally....
Cabin fever settin in early? Too bad...
Hey it's my twin!
You could go get coffee. Welllll that didn't work.
You could go buy your wife a new bike! Well, that didn't work either.
Hey That Guy,
Your twin is much better-looking than you are.
I was thinking the same thought - the AK Forum is a little boring at the moment since we can't get out riding and Tom S has had computer problems and the Geezers have been quiet (thank goodness). But have no fear, the Creative Hayduchess has some fun ideas to share, I just need to stay home and off of my skis to get some photos ready. After some scares I had in the backcountry this past weekend skiing on sometimes-thin river ice :eek1, I'm looking forward to skiing strictly on land this coming weekend.
I think I prefer boring.
I can see you're still being a poophead.
Where the hell is Maggie????????????
How about a little Pole dance for us???
By the way, I don't care is she uses a Pole, a German or even a Slav. Whatever floats her boat.
uh, Maws in jail again... She never even took the Marlboro out of her mouth before tellin that state trooper to kiss her boney white ass.
HayDuchess! I'm not part of your physical community but I'd like to chime in.
You ski on thin ice? talk about pucker factor. In the Rockies, I might fall off. On thin ice? Fall through, and uh...?
I hope to visit up there some day. If it is any consolation, my riding in the Rockies (Colorado) are snowed in too.
But I am in Texas for a month!
I know, ya, I'm a jerk. Sorry.
Twin brothers of different mothers !
That guy's mom is a menthol woman.
Do you live in Alaska?
Sarah Palin ROCKS!
(and she is hot, too)
You looking for Maggie? :huh
That's not boredom, m'friend; that's dementia.
Obviously too many Fairbanks winters.
Yepper. Not a fan of the half term mayor though myself. Don't know that I've met many of 'em around here.
Last time I noticed her books at the local Costco all of 'em were turned over.
I'll PM you as I will be in the Springs in May and July visiting friends. I'm planning a week-long backpack trip somewhere in the CO Rockies in July and want to climb a couple 14ers if possible.
Yes, we were skiing on thin ice as our temps haven't been cold enough to freeze the creeks and rivers solid. We skied 10 miles up Eagle River on Friday and hit some slushy stuff but didn't have to wade. On our way back out on Sunday one section of the river had started to melt out and there were areas of open water interspersed with ice that was barely able to support us. I heard the ice cracking on my friend as he gingerly scouted out a safe route through the holes in the ice. While I was breaking trail on Raven Creek a hole opened up right below my feet and I could see running water. Yikes! I would have been a goner if I was wearing snowshoes. See photos below.
We skied back to a waterfall hoping to do some ice climbing, but there was too much open water. Here's a narrow ledge we crossed, that had thick ice.
Life is an adventure and I enjoy playing in our big backyard - the Chugach State Park!
