Used stock plastic on my 500 and now the 300 and never had any issues with frame damage on either bike. And you know how well I abuse my rides... :-)

Me either! Plastic frame guards don't work for me, but didn't get to the same stage as your frame. Ouch.

Ouchie that frame... The picture of the crushed frame tube is why I put the EE guard on when I purchased my bike. I read that the plastic guards can't hold up under certain hits, and I also lowered my Xtrainer making it even more susceptible to hitting rocks (which I have in abundance). I will probably remove the guard and try to mill some 3/4 inch diameter holes into it, spaced out, to release water and dirt, trail trash, gravel and grass. At my age I am more inclined to buy a solution rather than create one. Sigh...
Wish I could have ridden on Columbus day, Monday. I would have gone to Pachaug, but work work work. If the weather holds out, I'll be at Pachaug Sunday. Looking forward to the King Philip Turkey run in Wrentham on Nov 3. I haven't done that one yet.

Funny you mention riding at TD. I was thinking 10 minutes ago during coffee, I might ride the Dam this afternoon, but immediately remembered it was done for the year. Sigh...Going to Pachaug tomorrow morning. I think the King Philip Turkey Run Nov 3rd is my last ride of the year coming up. Then a tear down and cleaning, parts, top end, clean, rebuild, clean, new plastics, clean, then Spring....

thanks for the update! Too bad, but hopefully it’s still a place that’s available to ride for a long while yet.

None of that is Greenway related. The Project Manager at the Thomaston Dam is getting stuff done. He and his team are working on projects that need to get done with ZERO input from any Greenway people. You'll notice their hard work in May when the trails reopen.

Also, a reminder - Public comment for the Greenway Draft proposal closes on 3/13/2020. That's next Friday. Please, if you haven't done so already, submit your comments. Send this to anyone you know. It doesn't matter if they ride or not. Explain to them the consequences of the proposed route to OHV community. Be sure to mention the safety concerns as well which is a major issue.
As Mike said, please be civil in your responses.
    Thank you!!
