you cook, you can bring your camper..... fair enough for me
200 seems to be plenty to me... there are always a few that bail at the last minute for the real procrastinators to be able to book.
Moving it to somewhere without the "forced" common areas strikes me as annoying. BB has the advantage of common area, but it's spread enough that you CAN disappear to a small group if needed.
Plus, I really REALLY like the no cell phone so it doesn't just turn into us all staring at our phones and replying on here to each other instead of actually interacting.
(but I do wish we had some wifi somewhere to make calls home / check weather/ figure out where the hell I got lost without having to ride up the street )
Can't have both @hscrugby
There is a common use computer next to the BB camp store to check emails and whatnot....
Just walk in and ask one of the store clerks at BB. They know what the weather forecast is for the day.
But it is the mountains and RDV, it will change before you get your riding gear on.
Well, it looks like I'm outvoted.
Just as well, I finally have the camping setup figured out. I'll volunteer for plunger duty to keep the locks off the campfire bathroom.
The Mrs and I like BB. Why mess with a good thing?
That's a bold move.
he's a wadder. Born to the task.
I'll join you, but only if we put up a game camera to catch the offenders and shoot them with paintballs if they clog it up.
Folder! Ask anyone who has received my lecture.
My wife and I discussed it. Although I like the thought of a different area to explore on the motorcycle, I go to RDV to bullshit with friends I haven't seen for a year (and meet new friends). As long as the owners will put up with us, I vote Black Bear again.
My thoughts^^^^ as long as BB will put up with us with little fuss, I am there for the bullshit.
Black Bear & Bridgett Bardot.
Can I vote more than once?
I'mgood with Black Bear. My vote is stay put. And what's wrong with Dennis Cove Rd.? One of the best roads around for riders. But all in all, I'll follow wherever y'all go so long as its not too much further for me to get to. I'm easy...and cheap too!
Is the alternate the campground across the highway from Bryson City? It's a pretty nice place.
Why is it mandatory to feed everyone? There's a couple ways to make it easier on yourself; things seem to be getting out of hand.
His fadder was a wadder. His muddah was a wadder. He loves the slop.
it sounds like Crawford's.... nice enough place, but there would be 7 different campfires. Though it would be fun pulling people and bikes out of that little ditch in the morning.
I walked the place in Bryson this afternoon, very nice, tons of room, maybe too much. Cell service was spotty, lots of picnic tables, I counted 4 showers each, the pavilion is only 30x30, they do have some 10x20 canopies scattered around, laundry, fire pit, and it looks like the RVs would be separated from the tents. Lots of conveniences. Except for the no kitchen part.
There is awesome riding in the area, easy access to the Blue Ridge, lots of gravel, less than an hour to the Cherohala and DG. You can pretty much ride gravel from there to Tellico Plains or down to Toccoa. But I don't know of any "legal" single track. And LEO presence is high on 74, just sayin. I saw an online review about how the site holds water after heavy rains, could be a problem. And it is in more of a rural residential area than BB (i.e. more neighbors).
Here's the Rulz, they sound like a good fit for our group. Especially numero uno. Not sure what happens if you break one though?
It will be another awesome weekend wherever you decide to hold it.
