So last year, in the fall, I found out I was moving from central Canada to Ontario. I decided, instead of shipping my bike to ride it, from Winnipeg, MB to Windsor, ON. and store it at my parents' house until spring. The trip was awesome, via Manitoba, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and finally Michigan; where I was rear ended by an SUV, while stopped in traffic.

Lucky for me, it was but a "small" bump, which threw me off the bike. I was completely stopped one second, behind a tractor trailer, and the next second, I was facing upward toward the sky, on the grass with some pretty shitty pain on my right shoulder.

The bike was fine. I wish I can say the same thing about my shoulder. Not fun. It still hurts 6 months later. I need to have that looked at, even though I spent the evening in the ER that day. Nothing broken or dislocated. I do have a feeling my muscle is f*cked.

The bike is actually being fixed as we speak. I delayed it until spring.

Can't wait to get back on it, though I have this morbid thought at the back of my head that something bad will happen again. I need to be realistic.

The ER doc would've said to see an orthopedist if you have any lasting effects. Then someone can get sued.

Try some physio. The muscles were probably hurt so you stopped working them, so they got weaker and now they need to be strenghened. If not your physiotherapist will point you to a specialist.

Sorry to hear about the accident. Nicely set up Tiger!
Hope you mend fast, friend. Serves as a reminder to the rest of us that "stuff happens".
Probably not one of those situations where you thought something was coming for you-
often we are certainly wary in town, at busy intersections and so forth, but this was an example of what else can happen.

A few years ago I was riding dirt and did an over the bars landing on my head. It really messed up my shoulder for awhile along the top back and took months to feel better, but eventually did.

A shoulder injury like that can tear your rotator cuff tendons, which may need surgery and/or physical therapy to repair. Get thee to an orthopedist.

I have an appointment to check my shoulder. I think I have a slight tear of my shoulder ligament like this:
Not as severe, but I can feel the limits, so maybe a cortisone injection should do the business.
Nice bike! I hate to see it laying on that ground like that..
