My hour-long test-ride showed me that heat is not going to be a major concern. Granted, I was only riding in Albuquerque's summer heat, not Oz's.

@ScottyDog seems to be on the money here. I think you were very lucky to get one right away!! I have to wait months for my RP in green/white, Sunstate at M'dore (Mitch) - one of the few salesmen I can chat to like a real person, the street tyres!!??, no apparent accessories on the net. I did not notice the heat when riding, but I was wearing leather at the time. I'd like to think I'll powder coat the engine/tank guards black one day. I hope there'll be a shorter screen option some time, some of us are cutting down original screens in Oz...
I guess the companies will ultimately build everything over the next 6 months that were available for the Tiger 800s.
I'm a bit jealous. I have to wait a while.

By the time yours gets here BD, there'll be a full suite of accessories available...
The rest of us will be looking at oil filters, new tyres, maybe even a new chain!

Just a quick question, which mirrors are those? I am guessing Doubletake?

I picked up a Rally Pro about a week ago and that's the one thing I need to address. I had the dealer swap the street tires for Missions before I picked it up and I have a proper GPS to bolt to it when I get a moment.

Yeah, DoubleTake. I generally put them on any bike going off pavement by default.

Thanks, I have used them before and I agree, the stock mirrors always wind up in a box for dirty bikes

Two mates just bought 790s, two more bought T700s. When my 900RP arrives, I should be able to do a comparison or two!

Looking forward to hearing your take on the 900 vs the T7. I have a T7 on order but just came across the 900RP and going for a test ride on Tuesday at the local dealer that has one of each color! I will miss my 701.

790S is not a good comparison to the 900rp or the T7 (except for price range between t7 & 790) specially off road

So you can ride my Tiger 800 and I would love to take a spin on dirt with the 900 :) I put the 900 back in my to consider list after reading reviews and moving the KTM off the list due to reliability issues. Depending on your height the Tiger 800 may just fell uncomfortable to you off-road.

The million page thread on this board and the complaints around FB, have provided me enough pause to remove it from the list, but the 790R was winning in my part worth utility exercise.

And I suspect I’ll have to disconnect the TPS on my 900, will have connectivity issues, maybe a dirt bike type wheel hop, Quickshifter fault.
