Change of Scenery or Michigan Meandering

Spent some quality social distancing in the saddle this past Sunday. Took a quick trip round the Thumb.

And a couple more interesting pictures of places I came across in my travels.

Bash.....what the hell is that green stuff all over the ground?.....

It's certainly not decomped granite. Lots of real dirt and mud.
Although, up north, it is mostly sand. I'll have to adjust my riding a bit to compensate.
Once the restrictions relax I'll be able to get up there and explore a bit. I anticipate a few overnight weekend trips will be in order.

Very cool! I've been to Port Sanilac many times with my sister and our families. Fun, quirky town. She lives on St Clair Shores, nice drive up the eastern coast. Keep those pics coming!

Port Sanilac and Lexington to the south. Been there many times as a kid in the 70s as my grandparents retired in Lexington. In fact, I rode my Yamaha Mini Enduro around Avalon Circle south of town. Also, both grandparents owned vacation mobile homes in the trailer park, which I see from Google Maps, are both still there!.

Let me know when you're on a road trip to the Keweenaw Peninsula. The Copper Country....Houghton/Hancock/Michigan Tech, my old stomping grounds!

It’s finally getting warm around here. Trees are almost all budded out. I'm headed south to WV-VA to catch some turns on the Ducati this weekend since the Dino Ride is postponed. I have never been to the area, I’m actually excited about exploring a new to me area. I’ll post up some pics if I survive.

There’s some neat paved twisties kinda paralleling the BDR in W VA. Just rode them last year and had fun.
2 cautions though.....when you get out on those backwater narrow paved roads, coal trucks haul ass and don’t stay on their side of the road. Secondly....METH.....crazy bad in the little mountain towns. Rock n’ Roll Bash!
