Time to check your generators. Specifically, check the fuel line for cracking.

My timing sucks. My new Kohler 20kw generator sits on the pad. Lp line trenched in and hooked up to the tank. The electricians will be here next week to hook up the transfer switch etc.
It looks like we might be getting some early hurricane season excitement this week with a depression firing up.
And it looks like I'll be dragging out the portable gasoline generator this week. :jack

I'm watching the Weather Channel now, why I'm beginning to wonder. I miss the old days of when they just gave the forecast. Now it's too much of " looks like it's going to rain a lot but OMGYOUMIGHTDIEBERORETHEWEEKEND" b.s. commentary. :csm

Put a 7gal tank on the loud jennay in place of the fiver that was there. Now I have a run time as far as any neighbors are concerned that says :asshat :deal

My little Honda 2000's are going in for carb cleaning next week. They each run a small window unit and other stuff (one downstairs and one up) if we lose power. They run about 14 hours on eco mode before needing gas.

I’ve been thinking about upgrading my whole house unit to a diesel/welder combo so I can put it out by the shop. I hate relying on propane

    The old conundrum!
    Propane doesn't degrade....
My bro picked up a exmilitary 150kw 4cyl diesel, kinda overkill but $750. And you can daisy chain them if that's not enough juice:hmmmmm

Diesel doesn’t degrade around Buzztopia. I use it in my truck, the Benz, tractor, etc....
I’ve run five year old diesel that was treated when bought. No difference from just pumped. Pri-D is good stuff for keeping diesel minty fresh :nod

An extra 250g tank would tide me over for a bit too.

Not bad for the cost of hauling it off, and it’s got some rust in the bottom so I’ll cut it out and weld in new steel.

Well here we go again ...possibly...I think Dorian will hit the East Coast of FL, at what intensity who knows?? Tropical Storm, Cat 1, Cat 2 or just an open tropical wave? Just to beat the mass hysteria that will come in the next few days, I am going to re-stock the water supply, get some more can foods. gas up the car(s) and charge the extra car batteries I use to run fans off an inverter, Generator is still in the box, have not needed it since the Fans run fine off battery...waiting...surfboard waxed and ready..

Genny fuel stays in rotation around here between bikes, mowers, and such. I fill up when I get down about 50 gallons, and always treat the fuel.

I like being able to buy corn free premium locally and not having to go to the marina for it.

The dolts on TWC were all :jump:jumpabout Dorian yesterday evening. They act like hurricanes=job security for them, & it really makes me despise those assholes.
