looks like I'll be getting to the farm around 11:00. If you get there sooner. there is a big pile of elm at the East end of the property on the bottom field below the front hillside. My plan was to drag the trees by truck to the appropriate camp site and cut them up there. This method makes for alot less wood handling.
Not sure where to camp yet.
Any thoughts from you guys are welcome.
Hilltop is the best view but will be subject to wind.
Spring ride site would be less wind but will require the creek crossing
above the pond is a possibility
Also, there is a flat spot in the woods
How many riders are expected to camp
How many street oriented, non creekable bikes?

this is something we can decide on Sunday, I'll get some other opinions
If you guys arrive before me, you can pile wood by the deer camp which is just inside the gate to the West about 100 yds.

hope this helps, look forward to seeing you all

    cheers

    Hey Yall,

How you getting there this weekend? ride or drive?

looks like it may be too slick for the connie this weekend so I will probably drive the truck, unless someone wants to meet up and carpool down. . . I promise I will shower. :D

I can fit myself + 2 in my truck. If you want to bring your 4 x 4, I can fit McD, MotoJoe, chainsaws, gas, and oil in mine. I think I have a chain we can use to drag trees.

Is this gonna be a firewood and guns day? If so, we'll throw some guns in the back too.

I spent the day at the farm and deciced that the camp will be in the bottoms.
Same location as the Spring ride camp.
The view is not as superb as the hilltop, but the North wind is blocked.
This site will require a creek crossing. which I would post a pic of if my digicam were not in the shop.
street rider dont worry, we will get you to and from camp safely.
I marked the coords for camp today and will post soon. Trail conditions are most excellent as are the local gravel roads. the creek is full and covered in ice which should make for some interesting races. I cut about 2 cords of wood today and hope to cut a couple more Sunday.
We will have a white man's fire all weekend.

snow is the forcast for tomorrow 2-4 inches

thats all I know for now

pm me if you need more info

Can you mark the coords for the entrance from the road too? I'll add it to the map fromthe Fall ride.

Do we ride up the same path as for the Fall ride?

I can't make the 23'rd, I wish it could it be great for this to be two weekends at the famr insteadof just one.

McD what size/type screw ar you using? I need to do that to the kids dirt bikes so they can ride on the frozen lake in front of the house. They look like a regular hex head sheet metal screw.

Here is what I did last night to get ready.

The bikemy buddy borrowed turned out to be a KLX 650, cool bike.

Ugly Barbie colors, but a very cool bike.

    Beefy ass inverted forks rule.

Now if we could just get it started.
