I've got a bunch of tradies doing a reno at home. Bunch of pigs. Worst ones are the roofers/ cladders ( colourbond cladding). A million bits of swarf from nibblers, bits of offcuts, rivet pins, screws, all the wrapping, packaging, lunch waste, all on the ground. Fronted them about it and they cracked the shits. I suggested they should get a big magnet on a stick, they said its not our job to clean up. I rang their boss and quoted the contract back to him. He said the boys would clean up.

The painter is a solid worker and tidy.
The plasterers just left shit everywhere.
The sparky is very tidy, an old school guy who has pride in his work.
The chippies couldn't drive a broom to save themselves, I love their work but they leave a trail behind them.
No loud pipes, but can I have a rant about loud commercial radio? WTF? It's just shit. And here's me just trying to have a coffee and work from home.

Here is a good tip, bunnings have a magnetic broom. Picks up the nibbler bits, great for grinder dust, rivet stems and screws, etc. Even works on grass.

Make sure you check the gutters for screws, rivets and offcuts because when they drop them they will not collect them.

I once worked at a place where the storeman used to have a radio going at pain level all day annoying everyone else in the building. He reckoned it was his right to listen to music all day.
Being engineers we designed and built a jammer that hopped around the FM band so it blocked whichever station he tuned to. He never did work out what was happening.

Now for a loud pipes killer.

Come on mate, one of my strongest memories of childhood is the radio in the background and dad yelling them home as we did whatever it was that needed doing that day.

The pie and coffee was enjoyable in the peace and quiet, then the nursing home left the gates open

That's a great song, IMHO. Never heard it before.
My parents almost never had a punt. It rubbed off on their kids. I'd be surprised if any of the grandkids are gamblers.

Er, what is this thread about? Oh yeah, return to normal service.

I had a new roof fitted to my old Queenslander before I sold it. The mess and the dramas associated with this literally traumatised me. Holes punched in the ceiling, roofing screws down the side of the house in the grass.. found two of them with the front and back tyres on my Super Tenere. If I had of known the mess they would have made (walking over and destroying garden beds, breaking off the TV antenna and cable) I would have sold the house and included their quote and a bank cheque made out to them as part of the settlement to the new owner. The shit they left behind was incredible.

    Never again.

My wife kept wanting to get pink batts when they were on offer. I didn't want some boofhead's clodhopper breaking through the ceiling but eventually relented.

The good news: no boots through the plaster.

The bad news: they didn't install the downlight guards we'd paid extra for and burned the house down!

    Shit!

So insurance paid out and then sued them? Or did you go after them directly!
