And here I was thinking it was getting too expensive to run cars. Isn't that why they pushed the pugs etc out?

whats not stable? No civil wars, major drug cartels killing lotsa people, international military skirmishes....just because the dicks in Canberra decide to replace one blue-tie wearing clown with another doesn't mean anything, really.

The PUGS were deemed by the FIA (after pressure from the other manufacturers) ineligible on a "parity" basis. The Peugeot enjoyed great technical superiority (due to some previous unforseen holes in the Tech regs and it's 2WD rear engined V6 turbo diesel configuration)... so all the "4WD teams" lobbied, and the FIA made the cars ineligible to bee driven by Priority A drivers (effectively all the factory team guns)... so they are not really "banned"... it's just that the "pros" can't run them anymore... so like old fruit - they will recieve no further technical funding, development, support and sponsorship... so will likely be punted by "gentlemen racers" for a couple of seasons... then dissappear.

The Mullet... Pie Boy... the "Pricetag"... fastest f#¤%er' to come out of the Aussie desert is set to add the title of "FIM Moto World Cross Country Rally Champion" to his DAKAR crown and amazing list of record shattering race wins and titles...

today - right now - Tobes is on the final stage of Rallye d' Maroc in Marocco... racing in a minutes and seconds battle with Pablo Quintanilla (Husqvarna) for the title. It will come down to just a couple of Points overall - as to who is crowned the winner... and Pablo is the defending world title holder. :1drink

(stickied just for today - to mark the historic moment)
