I have finally listed my 03 640 Adventure for $3200. Personally I think it's a fair price granting the miles on it but given the maintenance it has received.

But let's search 'dual sport' on the albuquerque craigslist and see who the competition is shall we?

    Let's see,
    There is a 1998 XR400 for $3500
    There's an 01 XR650R for $3400, and a second 01 XR650R for $4900. I repeat, four thousand, nine hundred dollars.
    An '04 DRZ 400 with 25,000 miles for $4,500.
    And a friggin 1991 KLR 650 for $3150

No offense if you're one of these sellers, maybe you know something I don't. (But, it is almost September...)

I see inflated bike prices everywhere. Used bikes with pricing in $11-13k when they sold for under $10k just a couple of years ago. In other instances, used bikes at the current new, non-current bike prices.

It's not just bikes. Everything recreational pricing is nuts. Try looking at home exercise equipment or even bicycles. 2-3x and more what prices were prior to Covid.

Yea I have cleaned out 4 bicycles from the garage since covid. Easily 2-3 times what I would have asked last year with 3-4 people replying within an hour usually. Strange times indeed. Maybe I "release" a few more to free-up more garage space...

I sold an old Honda scooter and an old mountain bike on Craig’s week before last.
First guy who emailed me about the scooter bought it the next day for full asking price. The mountain bike took three days but again full asking price.

Guess I priced that stuff too cheap. :dunno

Maybe he sells ice cream out of it and the season is coming to an end?

I can't think of any other reason to have so much 'trunk'.

Would hold 32 gallons give or take. Be quite a tank slapper should one get into that situation.

He has had that Valkyrie for sale forever. He originally wanted a grand more for the trunk but now it's only $400. Still...yuk! Although the "Just get in the trunk Honey I want to see if you will fit" trick would be a lot of fun to try!

Sport touring bikes seem be exempt from the price gouging everyone is talking about.

This is a lot of bike for the money.

It always shocks me how cheap bikes like RTs sell for. Bikes that sold for a premium when new, easily have 100+K of miles left in, and they sell stupid cheap? :scratch

    Random example: $2500

When that bike was new the fairings cost more than $2500 :lol3

Hmmmm.. that is a good looking bike. Maybe I should run down to Albuquerque :norton

Those fairings still cost at least $2500, now they just come with the rest of the bike, too.
