That's a way easier and elegant way of reinforcing than I was putting together in my head! thanks for that!

Hey Ruben great report. It was a pleasure meeting you in Tok and again for the three days in Dawson. The three FJR's made it home safely however I did manage to break my subframe somewhere in Alaska. Hope to see you on this coast sometime.

It was awesome to meet with Ruban on our ride. A wonderful human being with the most awesome personality and sense of adventure. The D2D was a great stop over . IMG_20190622_065720_163.jpg IMG_20190621_2033220.jpg

It was a great time and I met a lot of great people. Hopefully my visit to the post office this evening produces all the parts I ordered to get back on the road! There's an outside chance I might break free again before the snow falls. I may not make it to eastern Canada this fall, but its on the list.

Thanks for doing the report. I had a KLX, great bike, but I would not go with the 13 T sprocket, as it will cause faster chain wear. IMO.
Shouldn't need it with the 47 , unless you are planning slow , tight trails.

I also think the 47 rear will do what I want, but I ordered the 13 just to see what that felt like as well. I'm bolting up the 14-47 combo first with a little tweak or 2 to the carb and see what happens.

Have you ever thought about doing a 351 big bore kit? I can tell you from my own personal time riding my klx351 that it increases bottom end torque so that you don't need to gear it for low end power. I actually went the opposite way in gearing after doing the 351 kit. I went from a 14 to a 15 tooth front sprocket and kept the stock rear sprocket. Fuel economy does suffer from the extra cc's but I think that's due to the fact I can't keep from twisting the throttle a little too much. It's just too much fun! I have the 3.7 gallon acerbis gas tank like you do so I still get a decent amount of miles before needing to fill up.

You wouldn't have made it on those tires, LOL.

I could have towed him with the KLX, he would have been fine on those tires. Or very well rested napping on the side of the road waiting to get trucked out.

250 travel is a blast. Been doing it on a Super Sherpa for some time. Guessing your load will get lighter each trip. It has for me. Nice RR.

Yeah it's a nice shot of an fjr, but the creepy guy staring at it ruins the pic.... probably one of those hammock campers dreaming about hanging from trees and putting car tires on his bike.

Reuben - don't know how I missed this report last year.
