    The Tour of Gordon

<HR style="COLOR: #575757" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Growing up and in most of my adult life I have not seen much of this country. Not under desirable situations anyway. I've been thinking of a reason, a methodology if you will, a goal to get out and see the country on two wheels.

Here's what my lame brain came up with... yep I'm working with limited resources already. I came up with "The Tour of Gordon".

I have been searching Mapsource for towns called Gordon. For no other reason than it is my name and it will give me random places to go and random parts of the country to see. There has to be some learning included so I will, at each township called Gordon, try to find out the root of it's name sake.

I'm already into the 30+ range including anything like Gordon, Gordonville, Gordontown, etc. I may cut that down if it gets too long, but many of these towns are on the way to other Gordons...:dunno I'll chew on that more later.

Give it to me honest. Lame idea?

Cool idea, but you should only look for towns called "bacon".

Not at all lame. Cool concept. I just amble aimlessly, unless I have a specific destination.

Sounds like a great way to 'plan' a trip. Hell, any excuse to ride all the heck around the country is a good one. Have fun!

Looks like I'll be going exactly nowhere if I go looking for a town with my name in it. Either that or indefinitely.

Hey! Thanks for the idea. It seems there's only three of my towns in the US, one of which is only 50 miles away, and another that I drove thru while I was near it last month. I guess I could go hit the one in newfoundland as well. The six in England are going to have to wait for another trip.
Now the private girls school in Bethesda Maryland......:evil :augie

Shit, if you haven't seen your country, that's reason enough to go - the name thing's kinda cool.

But don't take pix of all those town names - no one will believe you. :deal :lol3 :poser
