Looking forward to your review on the tkc70. I'm thinking that this tire will be great on paved road but I am specially looking forward of your review of this tire in light mud i.e condition you would in encounter on the Dalton highway to Prudhoe Bay.

Would you recommend these TKC 70 tires for the Touratech Rally?

They would be just fine for the Touratech Rally in Plain so long is it isn’t raining. Nothing works like a full knobby in the mud but for most other conditions it would be totally fine.

“Will a "special set" (exhaust cut out) Zega Pro paniers be available for the 2014 and up R1200 GS Adventure ?

..and mountable to the oem racks hopefully?”

No special set for the water cooled GS/GSA is being planned unfortunately. We (TT-USA) want one but they (TT-AG) are not interested in building one. If they did make one, there is absolutely no chance that it will fit the OEM pannier racks on the bike, as I understand it that is part of the deal when Touratech makes the OEM racks and panniers for BMW.

Can anyone explain the significant differences between the NEXX XD1
here :

and the Touratech Carbon

Both helmuts are made by NEXX . Both helmuts share the same shell shape.
As far as I can see here are the differences
1 Cost - significant - shipped to me in Canada the Touratech is between 150-200 Canadian dollars all in more
2 Wieght. The Touratech NEXX variant is lighter
3 Shell composition. Touratech NEXX shell is carbon fiber. The NEXX XD1 is a composite but very light.
4 The NEXX has a drop down tinted internal visor. The Touratex version does not ..and hence does not have the drop down slider opening on the top of the helmut. This is said to have been done because of dirt infiltration issues?
5 The NEXX has an opening set up for bluetooth communications I believe it is on the bottom side of the helmut . The Touratech NEXX doesn't.
6 The Touratech NEXX has a goggle strap holder at the back . The NEXX does not.
7 The Tourtatech NEXX has more vent openings (don't know how many )

Anyone know of any further differences besides graphics that give a reason for the significant price point difference.

* the screw on the visor of the Touratech..is not typical as most I have seen have the quick release lever as the NEXX XD1 above has.

We will post a list of differences here shortly. We are in Moab for the BDR fundraiser rally @ http://www.3stephideaway.com/ & our techs have very limited access.

Thanks, TT
