Thank you for this vital info! Was very worried that the start of the TAT was going to be all bypasses!
One of the inmates joining me on the trip has started a ride report @ https://advrider.com/f/threads/mad-tater-2019-a-trans-america-trail-journey.1393198/
close to the ocean, but not on the Atlantic. you can remedy that detail when you get there.
When you hit Corinth , MS, stop in Lake Hill Motors. They can help you out with anything you need. The TAT goes right by the parts manager's house. They have a TAT ride around the area every June with Sam .
Thank you! I’ve added a waypoint for them!
My TAT ride report can be found here:
We did that full ride in 2015 starting in Andrews and ending at Port Orford. There was a named storm complicating our ride through MS, AR, and OK and the maps we got from Sam along with the GPS guidance was very helpful in routing around the bad spots - which is all part of the TAT adventure.
Thanks, I'll check it out!
Just binge read your report. Awesome!
I dont seem to see you on spot. Have a great trip.
I see myself on the page. Joe is the three letter. If you hover over it, it should say fjmartin. I shows me in Washington State. I will jump to Raleigh once I fire up my inReach upon arrival on Monday!
I see, found it on the roll call page and you are on that one.
Tomorrow is my flight to Raleigh, NC. The hotel I'm staying in is .3 miles from the UPS store where all my gear is waiting for me. Then just a few miles down the road is the warehouse where my bike is. While I'm sitting around, itching to get started my fellow inmates are working their way towards the start. One dude in Clinton, MS, another in Tuscaloosa, AL, another in Portsmouth, OH. One still at home waiting for his Seat Concepts seat to show up. The other hasn't checked in today. Each said its HOT and HUMID. Happy when they got rained on. We don't have much humidity in WA and normally I hate when it rains. They said the rain they had today on their rides were a relief. I may be changing my attitude on it!
I'm in !
Will be watching this adventure as it unfolds!
In & wondering who has the best sense of humor. Enjoy!
Me for sure... I’m hi-Larry-us!
