When you get hot, just remember us poor sods who are plodding at work.

    Safe travels.

You’re gonna need more fuel range.

(Not mine, I just came by this pic the other day.)

Today BadTex and I left Atlantic beach
    GPTempDownload.jpg
and grabbed a great breakfast at Cox’s family restaurant in Morehead city then were on the TAT at 9am. Since we started there we only had 32 miles of section 1 of Kevin’s tracks. It was nice paved back roads. Then we hit section 2 with more back roads and about 5 miles of the most perfectly smooth dirt I’ve ever ridden. The only hazard was these little guys

BadTex was having a grand old time rocking out to Korn

Miles flew by and we also knocked out section 3. All paved. Only issues on it were crossing Hwy 1, it had new pavement and blocks going straight across so we had to go up and u-turn for it. Later there is a turn off for some dirt by a big sign with a W in a circle. We turned in and an old guy in a tractor blocked us and told us it was a private drive and to turn around. We did. Section 3 ends in Candor, NC and then rode 5 miles up to Briscoe to the days inn. $65 for a double queen room. Sold!

Off to dinner and then tomorrow we meet another inmate at the end of section 4.

I spent a night in Biscoe a few years back. Part of an accreditation team for a high school in that nice town.

I've down a lot of riding and camping in the Uwharries, which you'll ride through tomorrow. That's a nice day ride from Raleigh. Actually, so is the BRP and MABDR in Virginia.
