A GS Giant Adventure Series Event

This event is the first weekend of Daytona Bike Week. It runs from the Ocean to the Gulf and back March 7th and March 8th. New route this year, starting at the St. Augustine Lighthouse and stopping on the Gulf overnight in Steinhatchie.

The Rally is an overland challenge in which you will have to follow a route sheet.

This year is more of an adventure bike affair as there will be a little more pavement than previously. This is due to all of the fences we are finding out in the booneys. Update- we are finding more dirt than expected. So 70% dirt is now the prediction.

That said, it will still be a great adventure as very few will have ever ridden in the areas we are headed to.

So plan on using your "big" bike.
The Start area is St Augustine Light House. Meet up at the parking lot and sign in will begin at 8:00am with riders meeting at 8:30. If you are trailering, the best place to leave your rig is at the Walmart parking lot, which is located in St Augustine. It is on US1, about half a mile south of 312. The parking lot is 5.4 miles from the starting point.

Steinhatchie- Dinner and Party will be at Fiddler's Restaurant and Pelican Pointe Inn. They have 18 rooms so book early 352-498-7427. Mention this ride for a special rate.

    Other near by hotels

River Inn 18 rooms as well $65 rate quoted 352-498-4049

River Haven Marina and Motel 352-498-0709

    For Camping

    Riverwood Spirits RV 352-498-2942

The Rally- you will be traveling over paved and unpaved roads. Your route sheet will also give you objectives (take pictures) to earns points. Top points earners will win the coveted trophies. :D March 7th will be from St. Augustine to Steinhatchie. A different route will be on March 8th back to St. Augustine. In St Augustine the least expensive place appears to be The Scottish Inn. The gave us a price of $75-79 for the Trans Florida Rally. Of course the person answering the phone may or may not be aware of anything so we will consider that part of your "adventure".

March 8th in Steinhatchie we will meet at Fiddler's Rest at 8:00am riders meeting at 8:30am.

    The Trophy Classes

    Class A 1,000 cc plus
    Class B 700 to 999
    Class C 250 to 699
Class D Anything older than 1995

There is No Rally Fee, however you will be expected to pay for...well everything else :lol3

If I remember there was an West to East ride as well. I did not make either one but was wondering how or if that worked out. This ride is backward for folks in the panhandle.

    Just wondering

    Hi Vick,

Last year we did have a backwards route starting the day before. We only had a handfull of takers so it was thought at this time not worth the extras (trophies, another night of logistics) and such to run this year.

That said we are a laid back lot, so minds could be changed if we had some west coast "pressure" :lol3

    Cheers

We have plenty of time to figure a "work around" for us Left Coast guys.

Maybe meet Saturday night - fun - travel East Sunday and grab a roll cart and head back Monday...

    Thanks for responding
