I do definitely need to do that ride. The roads there sound like a ton of fun to ride.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your Weagamow trip. I almost rode that instead of the Trans Lab.
Interesting information. It would be great to have more remote adventure riding opportunities in this part of the world.
Another great ride. Thanks GravelRider.
Excellent report. Loved it!
Thanks for posting your ride. I enjoyed it all.
Suggest you do a 4-5 day wander of the northern half of New Brunswick on their Forest Service Roads. Suggest ordering from a map co. called Backroad Mapbooks their N.B. map book . I have a number of their map books and they are accurate and of a high quality. I have moved my toy wagon there and used it as a base for day rides. Although carrying camping gear would work well as there are many campgrounds. Also one could wild camp almost anywhere. Thought don’t go June. New when I went June last year that it might be a mistake. F,ING BUGS BAD. Best time to go is few days after Labor Day week end till September 20. Still warm, no bugs, and hunting season not quite open. Any questions? Petepilot
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out!
Great RR. i've had the pleasure of riding the TLH counter clockwise from Newfoundland . On an FJR with knobbies. Mid August 2014.
Iv'e also ran out to Kegaska . You should have kept going. The end of the line in Quebec. Raddison Quebec was an awesome trip to the North to see the huge Robert Bourassa 1 dam. I too own a WR250 and will start doing some distance rides on it this year. The Gaspe is also a great spot to visit. I hope to run into you out on the road.
Thanks. I know, I definitely should have ridden to the end. Oh well. That'll be a future trip! Did you do any ride reports of these areas?
Great report and Pics. I did the TLH & Newfoundland Clockwise last summer on my GS. I have many of those same pics! Gagnon was pretty interesting, cool to see you stopped there. Great memories.
I'm brutal at doing reports. Maybe with all this new downtime I have I might try and report some.
Really enjoyed your report.
I hear about all of the big brook trout in Labrador. Did you see anyone fishing on your route?
Some of that water looks like it might be great trout habitat!
Thanks for reading. I always love reading ride reports of trips I've done and seeing many similar pictures.
Now is the time! If you do write any, let us know here.
I actually didn't see anyone out fishing. But I'm sure fishing would be good there, on account of it being largely untouched.
Great read! Thanks for sharing!
Great report, way to make Lemonade from Lemons.
I've got a group that is planning to do the trans-Lab in late August/Early September if this Corona Virus thing clears up.
Looks like 4 or 5 of us are still in.
Appreciate your detailed information.
Thank you! Hopefully everything clears up and you get to have a great trip!
Thank you for this RR. It reminds me that there il still alot to see in northern Quebec. Even if i made my way to Schefferville and back on the rail road in 2007 with a bunch of dumb guys. Bravo
Your ride report was a big inspiration for me to attempt to ride the rails to Schefferville (not that I made it that far). I actually went back to find your ride report before my trip, but none of the pictures were working (and still aren't). Any chance you could fix them? I'd definitely want to give that ride report another read.
Thanks for replying.
What a ride! I have a wr250r as well but the biggest trips I’ve taken on it was to trailer it out west then bomb around Moab and around the Silverton / Ouray CO area on the San Juan passes. Thanks for posting.
