Here's a link to a CBC interview with Paul, from Labrador City. Look under the January 26th edition of the CBC Newfoundland and Labrador Week in Review. It's at the end of the 1/2 hour report.

Better link in next post. Thanks Coolhand!

Damn, Paul you sure amaze the hell out of me:clap When are you coming back through Sault Ste Marie? or Bruce Mines. Capt90 and Hammerman from the Canadian X Riders want to buy you Supper and catch-up with your adventures. Thought the first time down from Wawa to the Soo was thrilling eh?? George, Kim & Pete

    Hey, Paul

Once you get out of Montreal, it looks like you've got pretty good conditions for Northern Ontario through the weekend.

It's going to be 6C & raining until Thursday and then drop to seasonal i.e. -5C Highs, -15 Lows around here. Expect the Outouais to be around the same.

For that stretch around Pembroke/Deep River/Mattawa through to North Bay, if you're coming through before Thursday, just make sure you time it to be through there in the afternoon. At +6C, that will make for some pretty good fog in the mornings in those deep valleys. I've spotted more than a few brown furry things (i.e. deer) near the road when I've caged it recently to my son's hockey games in Mattawa and Temiskaming. They're kind of randomly out in the road looking to lick the salt.

Holey Crap! We went from +6 to -10C with 75km winds in the span of about 2 hours this morning. I had to wear my MX goggles on my walk to work this morning.

Paul's got horseshoes up his ass (or is that the Caribou's ass), what with his bike being laid up in Montreal right now.

These are HUGE stretches of road that are closed right now, i.e Hearst to Matheson is @ 300 km and Wawa to Massey is @ 430 km.

You can't get very far North or West across Northern Ontario with these stretches closed.

    More Highways closed

[IMG]OPP advise the public that the following highways have been closed due to poor weather conditions - icy roads, zero visibility and whiteouts:

Hwy 11 (between Hearst and Matheson)
    Hwy 17 (Wawa to Massey)
Hwy 655 (between Timmins to Hwy 11N)
    Hwy 129 (Thessalon to Chapleau)
Hwy 144 (Cartier to Hwy 101)
Hwy 6 (Little Current to Espanola)
    Hwy 101 (Chapleau to Matheson)

The estimated length of time for the closure is unknown at this time and there are no detours.

Did the same thing here, only the winds were clocked at 120. Lots of snow squalls off the lake causing white outs on the 401.

I was supposed to haul to Montreal today, said fuck it. Manãna...

My neighbor's Muskoka chairs wound up on his lawn...I've lived here 7 years and have never seen that.

I just walked down to Lake Nipssing @ 1km from my place and I couldn't even stand up to take a picture, the wind is so strong. Memorial drive is closed near the lake.
