One note, I noticed that using the GPX in Locus, some of the segments are just straight lines as you get closer to Greenfield. They don't snap to roads like most of the southern section does, thereby making it kind of difficult to follow if you aren't using nav.

I might open it up in Basecamp and fix it.

route = the gps calculates on the fly, between points
track = the gps displays the path, no calculation happens

sounds like you have a couple of ROUTE points, not a full track. tracks are reliable, routes always lead to problems.

Actually looking at the GPX in NPP, its all trackpoints. Must be just that the waypoints are spaced too far apart. I might need to insert some.

I modified the track in the GPX so that it overlays all the roads now. I don't want to step on any toes by posting it here, so if anyone is interested I can send it to you.

Cool, just didn't want you to end up with "recalculating!" In the middle of your fun trip. :-)

Here's my take on 1 Wheel Drive's route. I've included both North and Southbound routes and tracks. Both routes are fully navigable with turn by turn directions and all tracks are snapped to roads. There are a couple of minor reroutes courtesy of BaseCamp so they don't match his original route 100%.

Basecamp lesson: If you find a break in the road that Basecamp won't allow you to route across, even when you know the road continues, place a point just prior to the break and change the "Mode of Travel" for that point to "Direct" and then place the next point just past the break on the road. Change the "Mode of Travel" back to "Motorcycling" or whatever you were using on the 2nd point and press on. This will give you a straight line across the road break similar to a track.

Thanks for the tip, Tnkr. I did not know that one. I'll have to incorporate that in any future routes.

Thanks for the tip, I've had problems with that in the past. Basecamp wants to reroute around it

FYI- Due to the tornado that hit the Conway area on 2/25, it's possible that some of the route through Ashfield/Goshen/Conway may need to be temporarily re-routed. I have not been through there to check it out yet; i am staying away to let the crews do the clean up work that needs to be done without unnecessary traffic/gawkers.

I've driven through Conway and the damage goes on for miles. Some of the route through that section is not plowed in the winter and we still have quite a bit of snow in those woods with more forecasted today and tomorrow. It looks like it could be a while before we know for sure. All of the route is on public roadways so the disruption may not be too bad.
