Yes...I did the TMT a few times over the July 4th weekend. The loop(east & west sections) was in great condition. I started from Summit Hill Campground which is right on the TMT loop. I don't goto Winsted on the south end and don't go to Greensfield on the north end. I only use the one gas stop "Ashfield Neighbors" on RT 116. Loop is 175 Miles. 20200703_104024.jpg 20200704_115706.jpg 20200704_141406.jpg 20200704_133144.jpg 20200704_131122.jpg 20200704_124728.jpg 20200704_212902.jpg

For just the Trans Mass Trail, I think the original GPX file is fine.

The one posted above has the "TMT Alt" track as well, which makes for a good loop. NEBDR also makes for an excellent loop with TMT.

I rode the western spur 3 weeks ago when our mini drought ended, returning on the NEBDR 3 days later. I can't wait to go back up for a quick, 2-day trip using a dirt track thru W CT.

I didn't realize there were multiple routes. Anybody have a full .gpx?

I had a great day yesterday on the TMT. 300 miles total over 7.5 hours. I went up on the original route and across the VT state line on North Green River Road. I stopped there and had lunch and a swim. Due to time constraints, I came home on 91. An excellent ride overall. River Road and Hawks Road were fun. I'd like to do the whole loop next time!

yeah, though not the most technically challenging, if any of the PDR can be considered that, I do like that southern stretch along the Green River. It’s easy to get into a nice groove with some jams in the headset and practice some Ralph Machio Karate Kid.

Roll throttle on, roll throttle off...

Glad to hear that others like that section too

Had a great ride on the TMT last weekend. Rode it solo but it would be nice to ride it with others. Hope to see some ride invite posts in future. Thanks

We did the trail July 31st awesome ride. Great conditions. We used q sheet so had to stop and check frequently. How can I load gpx file onto my nav6? Is there an easy way.

I downloaded a free phone app called BikeGPX and it worked great for me. It was my first time using a GPX file to guide me, so much easier than a que sheet.

For anyone not local, Western MA got smacked around pretty good by the remains of that hurricane. I'm in Worthington, still don't have power. If you're running the Trans MA in the next couple days be prepared for fallen trees and branches, plus a bit wetter than normal. Have fun!

If there is, and you can't get over it or around it, It's easy to bypass this road.

Thanks to everyone for this thread!
I rode the first 1/3 or so today. It was great.
There were trees on wires that I rode under and wires on the road that I rode over. I was on an adventure ride so I figured just go for it.
Very early on a local believed the road was impassible, but I had no trouble at all on my stock ‘83 Kawasaki Spectre 750. I bent/trimmed the bars and padded the seat and the ergos aren’t too bad for standing (although that was only necessary for a small bit.)
Really really glad to have ridden the little bit of it that I did. In Brattleboro now and plan on doing in southbound on my way home tomorrow.
You guys are awesome! Thanks again.

That would have been awesome but I’m going south from Brattleboro tomorrow and have to get back to Long Island.
    Thanks though!

Wait. Is Greenfield the northern terminus?
That show what a noob I am with this GPX stuff. Sorry.
I’ll message you tomorrow when I know what time. I’m only going as far south as Otis and then heading to Russel Ma. to look at a bike.
It might be early though, I’m sleeping on a blow up mattress in a leanto at Fort Dummer. No idea what time I’m getting up or if I’ll sleep much.

Just completed the TMT (east/west sections), all clear, even River Rd. Fresh Gravel was put down(about a miles worth) on the North End of Curtin Rd. Will be doing repeats from Summit Hill Campground till the 24th if anyone wants to meet up. 20200815_115542.jpg 20200815_150934.jpg 20200815_135533.jpg 20200815_163811.jpg 20200815_125936.jpg .
